ellavella

el-a-BEL-a, noun.

any souvenier, curio, or bric-a-brac from the Alpine region, esp. the Italian Alps. It's usage in the latter part of the20th century has been broadened to include any authentically European souvenier and its Chinese knock-off.

While many found Tintin's collection disturbing, Arlene thought his ellavellas of ceramic Alpine boys were quite charming.

new word - Absentithine
Ab-SENT-i-theen n.

Absentithine is an old Hollywood term, also found in general science fiction media, used as a temporarily "working" name for any fictitious element or compound which has importance as a plot device. Better known examples of absentithines include the original script of "The Absent-Minded Professor," in which absentithine was eventually replaced by the word "flubber" during pre-production, "adamantium" and "vibranium," both used in Marvel comics and movies (examples of which include Wolverine's claws and Captain America's shield, respectively), and "Chemical X," which, along with sugar and spice, created the Powerpuff Girls.

The mad scientist intended to preserve the bodies in an absentithine solution, but instead, unwittingly unleashed the zombie apocalypse.

because i'm pretty sure that's a commonly used german word. ; p

something about when your nose is separated from your face and becomes airborne, landing in a stein of warm beer.

I enjoyed a comment made on the O'Reilly Factor tonight, about the largely unheard of/underused words he digs up (one every night). They looked some up in the dictionary, and couldn't find them. I've had that problem too. And mine aren't that old (??)

Oh! Word: giddyostrophe
An emotion. The feeling you get when you freak out over what others consider to be "nothing", but you feel certain it will be the end of the world as we know it.

morquelopathy
MORK-el-OP-athee, it's like a verb or some junk...?

Anyway, it's like, zombie mind control. Worth learning before the zombie apocalypse. Because knowledge...is power.
