I see people in the forums typing long chunks of text, and their sentences don't begin with capitals. Which leads me to believe they are typing their long chunks of text on a mobile device.

Your education is needed.

I find typing long chunks of text on my tablet and mobile device is very tedious and not very efficient.

Some users on this forum do not have this same view, because they are entering tons of data with their little mobile devices.

Please give me tips on how to type more efficiently.

Is there a trick to typing just as efficiently on a mobile device as on a regular computer keyboard?

My phone is the only way I can currently get online, so if I want to type a lot of stuff...this is how I have to do it. It's kind of frustrating because it's so much slower. But then, I've gotten used to it. I do try to use correct capitalization and punctuation though.

Tips on how to do it...? Ha, I got nothin'. Except maybe...

One word: Swype

Unless you have an apple device in which case you're mostly out of luck (You can download a swype app for apple, but I'v heard it's not as nice and doesn't work as well).

One word... Practice :D

I just use one finger on me iPod. I started out slow but now I'm kinda fast. I just dislike autocorrect lol. I do tend to slack off on my ' like I'll type well instead of we'll because the effort doesn't seem worth it lol. But I do like to use caps for sure.

A Stylus works well and I'm also agreeing about Swype.

or... it could be they just don't believe in capitalization and other unnecessary accoutrements that slows down their "machine gun" typing. ;p

as to typing on mobile devices, i second the suggestion for swype. and patience.

Capitalizing is so engrained for me that it would take me longer NOT to do it. :p On my phone, everything after a period is automatically capitalized, so there again, no way to avoid it without extra trouble.

I do love Swype. Their predictive text is so good that sometimes I never have to type anything after the first word. I can just choose from their word choices and finish my sentence.

Yeah, my phone automatically capitalizes too. When i see people not using capitalization i figured they were on regular keyboards.

I'm on my Kindle a lot, it corrects words that don't even need to be corrected.

Capitalization and correct punctuation are so ingrained in me that when I see text all in lower case, lacking periods, I figure they don't write in cursive either. :p

lol This is so true...and it bugs the heck outa me. But I do love the way the words pop up as you begin typing and the automatic capitalization on it.

Swipe is no longer being updated. My android came with SwiftKey keyboard and it does what swipe did. Probably a good replacement. I have hackers keyboard for when I require a straight keyboard without any prediction messing me up. Settings allows me to select the keyboard I want to use for specific purposes.
