I joined this APP called MeetUp for those who would like to do more social activities, find people that have common interests, ages, hobbies, etc. and plan and go out to these events and meet people. Well 80% of the people on there are females. I am in a line of work that has mostly females. Church has males yes, so atleast there's that. But where do I find you?

In the woods, felling trees and bucking logs.

Seriously though, It seems women are more drawn to apps and such. Ladies love their phones! This is pretty much the only social site I ever visit, I am an outdoors-man.

Good idea. Has anyone used MeetUp? There is a website too. You can meet people in your area. There are various MeetUp groups. I have thought about trying it, but haven't yet. Does anyone have any impressions or experiences to share?

a few of the places i've seen plenty of single guys:

+ volunteering -i've met a lot of guys serving in ministry or charities. for example, i used to be pretty active with habitat for humanity and that seemed to be mostly guys.

+ co-ed sports leagues - many cities have adult athletic leagues, and i've played softball on a few leagues. it's a lot of fun, a great way to make friends, and you really don't have to be some gifted athlete to play on most of these leagues. i promise.

+ other churches - i know you have a church you go to, but why don't you check out some other churches? there's no reason you can't go to another service at a different, larger church, or participate in some of their events or (singles) ministries.

Er... I don't know about any other men, but I'm right here. You're not here though, you're there. In fact everyone here is there. I'm the only one here that is here. If you were standing two feet away you'd still be there.

But then, that's neither here nor there.

But doesn't this then relegate church as a singles event to meet potential mates rather than a place to learn and fellowship and worship? And no, just saying it counts as 'fellowship' doesn't change the intent. Which is a single person going to church to find singles that you hope are potential mates.

This is true. But it depends on your mindset. It could be just to mingle with other Christians, male or female, which is the way I like it. Friendly atmosphere first. I tried the other approach some 25 years ago. I believe God knows where our hearts are. I just like to meet other Christians. And if a relationship comes of it, it will be more natural instead of like a shopping experience! Now I'm sure this may have worked in the lives of some, we all have different destinies. Mine has never been that simple lol! If I meet someone, I want our being together to be blessed by others as well, I've had enough of the opposite to appreciate good company.

I am sitting in my room playing video games. I live with my mom and am unemployed. She does my laundry. Occasionally I go get the mail.

Signed,
This is where the men are at.

But i was responding to a specific post that said 'visit churches to meet men' so i'm not going to get into semantics about intent when i was responding to something with the intent already made known. This was an irrelevant response.
