I am sure this thread has been up before, but hey why not a repost. Have any? Would you date someone with one and/or the other?

I have a tattoo. No piercings for me (allergic to most metals). Yes I would date someone with tattoos and/or piercings.

I don't have any and don't plan to. I can just draw on myself with a permanent marker if I feel like having a temporary one. :). Never want anything permanent on my body incase I change my mind lol. I have ear piercings from when I was 2 weeks old. Parents were smart, did it so I couldn't remember it at a young age xD. They used a needle and ice! Wabam!

My my ex had a few... One which included the initials of his first gf... Yes people... Please do not tattoo bf/gf names on your body. Just not a good idea if you plan on dating again after a break up. I never nagged him about it but once in a while it'll just remind me that he's been with other girls etc before me. I always tried to not dwell on it though.

Oooo yeah that is a bad idea altogether :/ It would bother me. I would just stare at it.

I have no tattoos , but they don't bother me. I have my ears pierced 3 times and I'd reallllly prefer he not have piercings. I'm not saying that I don't find some of them attractive. ..just not most of them plus it just seems weird to me. Piercings have always seemed feminine to me.

Let me put it this way. Some tattoos/piercings in some places look good on some people. :p My fiancé doesn't have a single tattoo, and he'd probably look ridiculous if he had a half or full sleeve...but I can imagine a smaller, more subtle tattoo actually looking quite attractive on him. I have seen what he looks like with an ear piercing (this little girl had a magnetic stud that she put on him as a joke) and he actually looked really nice.

As for me, all I've got are the standard one piercing per earlobe. I'm not interested in any more piercings, and while I don't object to a small subtle tattoo, I have yet to come up with a design that I like enough to commit to, so I'm content to just not have any at all.

I've had my ears done in the past. But didn't really care for it, so i have no plans on doing it again. Generally speaking i'm not a fan of piercings off the ears. On myself or others. I also have 2 tats, and would like to one day get a couple more.

I'm not a big fan of tats on women. To me it's masculine. I've only seen a few in my life that i thought looked good (as in attractive) on a woman.
That said, i would not entirely rule out dating someone with piercings or tats. It would depend on where they were located. How many. How big the tat was, what it was.
I really dislike belly button piercings though. That could be one i might draw the line at. Or other 'personal' piercings. But an eyebrow or nose i could deal with, long as they were not highly emphasized with big or flashy rings.

I have my ears pierced once and I have a tattoo that says "Faith" on my right ankle. It's my twin's middle name (though it could also pertain to His faith, as well), and she has my middle name (Joy) on her ankle. Hers looks different from mine, but I think the way they look each reflects our personalities.

Lip rings and some earrings (not huge gauges though) don't bother me, and I actually find a man with tattoos attractive, so...there's that. Men can be equally attractive without them, though, I'm just saying that they don't bother me. Well, I guess it depends on what the tattoo is. Anything crude is a no-go.

Aside from having my ears pierced, I have had my tongue, eyebrow and nose- not all at the same time. I've always been afraid to get a tattoo. Never had much of a desire. Pretty painful? I would date with both- depending on what was tattooed. No flaming skulls please. No crazy African-styled piercings.

You had your tongue pierced and you worry that tattoos might be too painful? O_O

Actually out of all 3- the nose was most painful due to cartilage. I even felt faint afterwards. But its quick. I don't have to sit in a chair an endure a hour of getting tattooed :( :/

I guess I've always found skin kinda sexy as it is...

If I want to see art work, there are these places called museums.

What about make-up? The nice thing is that the stuff washes off a lot easier than a tattoo.

Piercings? Kinda bugs me when I look at a person and see lots of studs and loops all over the place. I can go to an auto-parts store to see that stuff.

Are these things deal-breakers? No. But, they aren't deal-enhancers, either.

Getting a tattoo is painful to begin with but it goes numb after a few. The tattoo can be painful afterward if it gets infected. To combat that use a bit of neosporin on it.

That picture is quite ugly. Going overboard on anything can be ugly. Moderation is key. :)

I don't think I would sport a tattoo because I always fear I might change my mind. Imagine one day I wake up, look at my tattoo and think 'What was I thinking?' However I find some tattoos attractive on a woman. Like a subtle tattoo on the ankle or below the neck. Any vague tattoos like dragons, scorpions, skulls, etc. are a no-go for me. With piercings, I will be okay with one or two on the ear and/or nose. I guess this is because I prefer my girl the way she is - sans makeup and other accessories.

Yes, exactly :)

For the most part, I don't find tattoos attractive, although I think in general men look better with them than women. I take a neutral stance on ear and lip piercings. Nose piercings and gauges are a turn-off.

I have no tattoos, and although my ears are pierced, 2 per lobe, I hardly wear anything in them because I'm allergic to metal. I'd like to get more piercings in my ears. I need to just buy some plastic earrings.

You could always do what I did. I got one that I designed and it has meaning to it. It is Christian themed but not overtly. It has lead to some interesting conversations.
