Hmmm..good question. When I think of some of the most romantic songs, poetry, art, grand gestures, etc. the first to come to mind are the works of men. Sometimes a woman's idea of romance is being in love with love itself, while being seemingly more concrete for men, more directed toward an individual than a concept.

I really couldn't say. One thing I have learned about love is that there are no "usuallys". :)

Hmmm....

I don't know if women are more idealistic about love, but I think they may be more idealistic about the fairytale. Society tells them that their prince will come along and they will live happily ever after.

From a very early age many little girls will pretend to be brides, mothers, etc. I don't know of many little boys who give a great deal of thought to such things, generally speaking. Perhaps it is conditioning, who knows?

Having said that, let's look at scripture...

The romantic writings of the Psalms and Song of Solomon. Idealistic? I don't know. Dreamy? Yep. :)

No woman is more romantic than I am. In fact, I once serenaded a woman in a restaurant, and it caused all the women there to fall for me (they literally fell to the floor while I sang).


Okay, some people say the women "fell over" because of the food poisoning in their meals which cause them to kneel over and heave. But that theory hasn't been proven yet!!!

Maybe my romantic singing was just causing all the women to "throw up" all their false notions that men can't be romantic anymore (yeah, that's the theory I'm going with!!!).

I am so romantic that God can't seem to find me a woman worthy of such incredible devotion and love.. so I guess I'll go watch another mindless gore-filled action movie while I'm waiting.. :rolleyes:

The rules of singledom state that a man must watch more of gore-filled action movies until a woman comes along. Any breach of this rule is a cognisable offence.

I say no, but us men are expected to show more romantic gestures than the women because of societal norm.
