So, if women like that don't exist, then what are you calling me? Unkind? Unhelpful? What about the other ladies on the forum?

Beard man, if you so desperately look for the bad side of things all the time, guess what you're going to find?

These are wonderful traits but it is rare to find a person with all these. :)

Hmm those are some fair traits, but you forgot to add...
* Loves God First
* Loves Family Second
* Willing to stand up for what's right no matter the cost
* Not given in to wordly desires / fashion / propoganda / etc.

Scripture references:

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
- Mark 12:29-31

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
- I John 2:15-17

All else see "virtous woman" - Proverbs 31

Here's hoping / trusting she's out there...

I dunno... I'm honest enough with myself to admit there should be some other things on that list.

*Tells him when he is wrong.
*Works together with him to bring BOTH his and her viewpoints to bear on a problem.
*Provides what he lacks in life and accepts what he brings to the relationship.

I don't want a wife who is meek and subservient all the time. I want a wife who complements me. (Not compliments, complements... though a compliment every now and then would be nice too.)

Arlo & Janis comic strip had an interesting one a while ago. Arlo and Janis were sitting on the patio and he remarked about how beautiful the sunset was when seen through that tree over there. She responded that the branch of that tree was dead and needed to be cut down before it fell down. He thought to himself "Some people would say incompatible. I prefer complementary."

I'm not joking. I'm very logical, very object- and goal-oriented and very straightforward. I'm not very good with people and I'm not very good with emotional cues. Scientists tell us women's brains are wired more for emotion than men's. I can easily imagine a scenario where a lady's more emotion-based viewpoint would be more valid than my own. I can even imagine disagreeing with her and maybe arguing about it.

The trick, it seems to me, would be for a man and a woman to both be objective enough to step back and realize when the other person's viewpoint is more valid. Sometimes I really do need someone to tell me when I'm wrong.

It took me until 59 to learn most of this list, but I can tell you that it is working now.

I'm sure we could all add things to this list, but rather than telling her 'that list is not good enough' i, instead, appreciate hearing a woman make a post like this, rather than another 'where are all the Godly men?' post. And given that she's 18 it only makes her post that much more respectable. Thanks for your post WOC.
