I was just wondering if you prayed for your future husband and if you guys pray for your future wife.... Like I pray that my husband is a man after God's heart and just trusting in Christ in everything.... and like I also am praying that he is praying me... and I hope when he mets me it is not becuase of the way i look but rather.... 9I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. 1 Timothy 2:9-13 I hope he can see Christ in me first then my beauty second( not trying to get a big head and saying i am pretty do not get the wrong idea) And i also hope that when he is praying he can see that i am a proverbs 31:30 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. person

just wondering if you prayed about your future husband or wife

I've prayed for my future wife at different times, although I admit its not an everyday occurence. Sometimes, I have great difficulty in praying for someone when I don't even know their name, or I have no way of identifying them. I've tried fairly simple prayers like, "Whoever my wife is to be, please bless her", but it feels so empty and hollow to me...not sure why.

Not really simply because I do not feel ready for marriage at this stage of my life. I think I'd start praying once I hit the 35 year old mark and still hadn't found anyone yet lol.

I'll say, it does not happen often, but I do have my times. I usually pray that my future wife is in good health and that God would protect her. I often find myself praying that she will wait for me, as I have waited for her.

The irony is that if you pray for your future wife then your future wife must also pray for her past husband for it to work. Very back to the futurish.

I think we've uncovered a bit of a difficulty in the concept of 'pray for ones future spouse'. It's almost impossible without a time machine. In reality, God's foreknowledge is the 'time machine' in this case.

when you understand God is outside of time, certain things begin to make sense

Future spouses are not outside time however. The prayers are therefore non-effectual because a) you dont know who you are praying for and b) the person being prayed for is ambiguous. Perhaps a person will marry three times, then the prayers should be addressed to future husbands (plural) not just one. At the end of the day, whom you marry may not be the future husband you were praying for. You prayed for Jim (as Jim was God's choice), but you fell in love with and decided to marry Fabio. You thought you were praying for Fabio, but in reality Jim is still praying for you ,and therefore committing adultery in his prayer life, by praying for a woman who is already married to the wrong man...it then becomes an issue of coveting another man's wife in prayer before God.

But you can pray for the person that you will end up marrying, not for the person God wants you to marry. Just like you can pray for the child you haven't given birth to yet.

Since God will not honor that prayer for your future wife as she is already married, satan is all too happy to oblige to arrange a chance meeting , and an adulterous affair is tempting, by which she is tempted to leave Fabio for Jim, after realising her mistake and that Jim really is (or was, rather) her future husband.

lol hahaha what

so you may have to be specific and pray for one person, then specifically ask that no fake spouses cross your path, and that once married, no encounters with better potential spouses will occur.

My mom used to tell me all the time that she prayed for my future husband when i was a teenager. I wish she hadnt, because god thought it was funny after my mom praying for years and years and years, he thought it clever to stick me with some no good lousy guy. well Now that i am divorced.

My mom tells me that same thing now, im praying for your future husband, so i figure if i pray against her prayer that god will just not let me get married at all that it might counteract her prayer then i dunno, something will blow up. Isnt that usually how it works.
