Why are most guys my age perverted/innapropiate?

I don't know, maybe this thread was kind of stupid, but I just wanted to get all of your guys' thoughts. Maybe I'm being a little too judgmental and critical, because all guys and girls too (youre right) struggle with that lust aspect. I guess the difference is their determination and attitude to seriously stray away from that behavior, or just continuously acting that way without maybe realizing or caring. With using that excuse, "well I'm not perfect" which is true but..I don't know. At the same time, It just beats me up sometimes that most guys do not look at me as more than a friend, due to me never having a boyfriend ever and being really innocent and having more strict , higher standards. Some have told me that they do not want to be the first guy to take away that "innocence" from me, because it wont work out. Innocence as in holding hands, cuddling, and kissing , etc. which I don't understand. (not sex). Im just looked as the "conservative good little cute girl" lol. I guess having high standards, never having a boyfriend ( so I guess being inexperienced) bothers guys and believing of not getting too intimate when dating puts off their interest. Sometimes, I think theres a problem with me, but I wont change my beliefs and the way I am for nobody. It's just disappointing.

No its not stupid, i understand. I feel bad that people at your school dont want to be more than friends with you. I think you are very strong to stand up like you are! Im glad u are unwillingly to compromise your beliefs, stay strong! And there is no problem with you at all! Ive never had a gf and im 17. To be honest its weakened my self image. Im just so scared no girl would ever want to date a guy like me especially with my issues im still working on. I dont know u in person, but i think (i hope this doesn't make u uncomfortable thats not the intention at all) you would be someone id date, u seem nice and have a strong relationship with Christ. Trust me you will find the right one, dont give up

Btw what I meant with "I'm not perfect" is that I still get temptation like any other guy does, I just choose to forget it and stay pure for my future wife. Not to sound like weird, but it's hard constantly fighting your own mind, cause everywhere in today's society there is temptation. I'm 18 and I'm a virgin, never kissed a girl. But I get what you're saying with some guys use it as excuse, they would use anything as excuse I guess.
I would say I have very high standards too. (Especially compared to the low standards many teenagers have in this sex fast food society)

I just feel like they all have lust on their mind and don't care, even if they say theyre chrisitian.

For example, I was on twitter the other day and some Christian guys I know from school retweet (liked) several pics of a girl showing her breasts or butt that looked so photoshopped. Ive always thought if a guy is transformed by Christ, they would have no interest to like indecent photos of women. They have even tweeted stuff in a jokingly manner like, "girls who send booty picc without me asking are a blessing" or "nudes are welcome" ...these are the same guys who also say, "God comes first" and "Thank God for waking me up today and giving me life" ...I don't know, its just things like this that is making me lose huge disinterest in the guy population, because they all seem to have one thing on their mind even they aren't as explicit about it as others. Most guys have never viewed me as more than a friend, because I am very innocent looking and innocent minded who has higher standards and believes in not getting very intimate with a guy when it comes to dating. But It's whatever. Your thoughts?

I understand what swagglestar means. I do have to say, even as a guy, guys tend to be more obsessed with sex. But yes girls can be just as bad sometimes

If I may address the problem that still goes back to biblical times. Alright now try to follow me on this lol. Boys are mainly tempted by what they see not as much as what they hear. While women are more so tempted by what they hear not as much as what they see. And the proof behind it is simple, back in the garden of Eden Adam was tempted when he SAW Eve with the fruit. And Eve was tempted by the serpents charm. Now the reason for boys or men to be so nasty and perverted is due to things such as pornography, some t.v. shows, and even at times women with how they dress. Now I'm not saying that all girls dress bad, but I do remember growing up in public schools and in my private school how some women would dress. But ultimately no man should EVER talk nasty, because it pushes then further and further away from GOD and it at times hurts girls emotionally and mentally. Oh, by the hi most people call me soup. :)

To go off of this point, if I may. Boys are more visual, and women are more affected by audibility and actions (like is quoted). I think the problem comes from boys - and even some men - thinking it's "cool" or OK to be perverted in their comments towards women of any age. I don't know if that due to the way the treatment of women is shown in today's world (TV, movies and music), or if it's just an attempt at attention, or even a cry for help. Who knows? I think that, knowing how a girl/woman reacts to those comments, it would be good for boys/men to rethink what they say in an attempt to get a girls attention.

Just my two cents. Hopefully it makes sense... since it's a completely off-the-cuff response.

I think guys are worse. I get whistled at and tooted by guys on the street from cars. I don't wear short skirts or anything.

I watched this video and was disgusted by it. Though, it does raise the question that undobtedly some people will ask of, "is saying "hello" harrassment"? I think there are ways to talk to a woman, and to show her that you're interested, but this is not the way to do it. Are guys inherently going to look at someone that they find cute/attractive? Yes, of course. But, it's clear to see in a large part of the culture now, there are no more morals when it comes to this type of thing.

I'm glad this video was made for two reasons. First: Yes, this video was taken in a very heavily populated part of a NYC; but this stuff happens everywhere every day. Second: To let girls/women be aware that there are guy who are NOT like this, who do not have bad or ill intentions in trying to talk to you. The only issue is gauging which is which.

Most boys are that way because they are trying to act cool and be they think that is what a girl is looking for and because they figured what they learn they can make a joke out of it. But it's not only boys I know a lot of girls that are the same way some of my friends are this way and I can deal with it.

That guy that retweeted those pictures may not really be a christ follower. Unfortunately, guys don't mature very fast. And the real Godly guys are hard to come by, but they DO exist. Ignore the boys going after superficial things and wait until you're given a real Godly man who admires a woman with the fruit of the spirit within her. these boys aren't worth a second thought. They giving into temptation and need time to mature and repent
