So I'm pretty hardcore on the jesus stuff, and I like to listen to music promoting him, so is there anyone out there who's a fan of these bands?

Devil wears prada
Mephis May Fire
For Today
We came as Romans
Oh Sleeper
or bands that are similar?

Just curious because I don't really know that many christians who do, anyone who listens to rock music is a "satanists". And I know a lot of preppy christians,
"I LUV JESUS! OMG!!! And they go skillet is soo screamo! They are soo hardcore!! I feel like such a monster #monster!!!"

No, skillet just plays bar chords... I'm talking impending doom, betraying the martyrs.
Anyone out there?

Umm I will have to disagree with you on the point that "anyone who listens to rock music is a satanist." That is NOT true, it's absolutely a false assumption!! I listen to secular rock music everyday, and I'm NOT a satanist!! Not all secular music is satanic. I think it depends on what the lyrics are about. If they're about killing or torture, then yeah, that aint a good song to listen to. But please dont say that all who listen to rock music are satanists, because it is simply not true. :)

I don't think there's anything wrong with listening to secular music if that's what you're into. Personally, I almost exclusively listen to Christian music but that's simply personal preference at this point. If I'm with others and they want to listen to secular music I don't argue or complain as long as its not lyrically unfit to listen to.

Personally, even before being washed in the Blood I felt something when I listened to Christian music, and now, I feel even more. I can't think of anything more than powerful than sitting down and just worshiping the Lord through music. Very powerful. This doesn't really fit the theme of the thread; But simply making the point I rarely if ever feel a need for secular music.

As for these bands, they are not my cup of tea. I used to love metal music, and rock, but I simply can't listen to it any more. Even when the lyrics aren't satanic the Spirit of the music just feels all wrong.

He's stating he listens to some Christian metal bands and asking if anyone else here does. So it's not likely he is saying people who listen to metal are satanists, but more likely sharing what he hears other Christians say to him.

To OP. You're mostly talking core bands. Metalcore/deathcore. This stuff is the most popular and commercialized form of metal in existence and that includes among Christians. The Christian metalcore scene is so overpopulated it's ridiculous. So you must be looking in the wrong places.
Personally i'm not a big fan of metalcore. There are some bands i like, but even those i don't listen to a lot. I used to listen to For Today a little. And I think i have an o Sleeper album or two. Impending Doom is the best band you mentioned.
I can hang more with straight hardcore. Or straight metal. Blending the styles is a cool concept, but it's been defined by having to sound a certain way, so people don't find original ways to mix them. They just parrot the already existing genre. Which is sad because it could be such a better concept if people stopped being clones.
The first Christian band i ever considered to mix the styles together was Spite of Opposition. They were not metalcore, as defined by todays standards though. But some of the older and original metalcore bands back when the scene was new were less commercial and heavier. Old Zao, Strongarm, Spitfire, Winter Solstice, Edge of Mortality. Rawr!

This is one of my reasons i don't support the idea of listening to rock music...unfortunately a lot of music these days just feel wrong in the spirit.

I prefer to keep feeding the spirit instead of the flesh anyday

Exactly how I am. Feeding the spirit is much more fulfilling than feeding the flesh. I hope I don't sound like I'm downing anyone who does listen to "Christian rock" or whatever, or even secular music, because I'm not. That's personal preference, and not something worth arguing in my opinion.

Yeah man, rep the spirit not the flesh. That's why my main genre to listen to is For Today. I love toby mac, but his songs aren't hardcore like this. These guys are willing to die for God and they sing about it. Where as if you want to be popular you don't go as hard as these guys...

Face to face with the grave I was waiting for
And my killers were
Face to face with a faith they can't ignore
This is my final stand

I will never bow down to your idols
I know who I am
You'll have to put me in the ground to silence me
This is my final stand

You can't kill me, I'm already dead
This is the martyr's cry
So as the crowd demands my head
My time has come to die

I used to listen to Christian screamo for a time; Confide, Oh Sleeper, Demon Hunter, For Today etc..At 14 and 15 i switched to secular music and changed to pop, electronic and dubstep. At this point im beginning to switch back to some Christian music but the new stuff i like is very pop electronic type. Ive never been able to love contemporary, i find i cant relate well, its not energetic enough, and the lyrics are the same thing over and over! As for Christians who say Metalcore is satanic, they are uninformed, judgmental, and close minded Christians. A genre in itself CANNOT be satanic, only lyrics or your thoughts when listening to music, like new age. Ignore any Christian who says metalcore is satanic

About what you're saying: Metalcore isn't satanistic. I agree, but we Have to watch out that we keep the reverence for our God! Our God is Holy. Holy! For me, metalcore isn't the reflection of Something Holy. I think this s diffrent for every person. We have to consider this for ourselves.

I just felt like I had to add this shit ;s

I agree with you Channa, i wouldnt consider it Holy, but its certainly not satanic either. I was in no way trying to minimize God's Holiness at all. All i was saying are some Christians dont understand that a genre in and of itself cannot be satanic. And i do believe that there is Christian metalcore. Christians are most certainly not restrained to liking a certain genre of music, the lyrics are waaay more important than genre. Christian rap even exists, but alot of rap is bad, but some is good like TobyMac
