I'm a teen and I'm trying to know God and get to know him more but it seems like the harder I try something pulls me back into my wrong ways and I know there wrong of what I'm doing I pray and it seems like it isn't working are he's not hearing me which I know is foolish to think that but seems like the more I pray the more bad stuff happens and I go back to sinning I just want to stop doing what I'm doing and walk/follow im he's foot steps

There will always be things that will come to try and pull you away from God when you are trying to get closer to Him. Keep reading His Word. It's the best way to really know Him more. His Word is like a seed. Keep meditating on it day and night and do what's in it and it will grow in you with time. Ignore the thoughts of doubt that say God doesn't hear you or that it's not working. I know that can be tough, but as you keep your mind on Him more and more throughout the day, it will become easier. Since temptation (which leads to sin) is linked to what we think upon, it's best to have our mind stayed on good things from God.

Keep the faith. Keep praying to God for help, wisdom, and strength. Surround yourself with good Christian people. I know it is hard, we are all tempted. I will pray for you. God Bless!

Proverbs 24:16 For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.

^^^ Notice how in this verse that the just man falls? The righteous man isn't perfect. The righteous man messes up and sins. BUT, the righteous man rises up again. The righteous man doesn't give up.

So, I think your okay because your going towards God. Keep rising up again and again.

Remember this isn't about you being perfect ok? This is about you moving forward to Jesus ok? No Christian is perfect. Does that help?
