"Eating Meat" is a pretty weird title but it's something that i been thinking a lot about.
I love love love to eat meat, and I am not Jewish (in case you thought I was because I am from Israel) so I pretty much eat any meat. But I had a conversation with a coworker recently and she talked to me about why she stopped eating meat. About how cruel way the animals have to live and die. I mean, it got me thinking that, it's true that God gave us all control over animals, and we usually (most of us) rage when we see someone torturing little cats or dogs. We get so angry when stupid friends kick or harm animals, but are cows really any different?
Obviously this is not a question about faith, but people are full of opinions and thoughts, and thats not what i am looking for. What i want to know is is it really ok for us to force animals to live such painful lives just because we have "control" over them?

No it's not. But then again, we are talking about the world, not the Church, and that distinction should be made. While i am of the belief animals were given to us by God for food, companionship, etc.. but i've heard of many of the brutal and harsh practices towards animals used for food and i don't agree with it.
But i still eat it. The world will do what the world will do, right or wrong. My stopping eating meat won't make them change their ways. Their ways are associated with spending the least to earn the most. Until someone can find a way for these people to save money/make money and treat animals better, then these people will continue to do so.
Even with the rise in vegan/vegetarianism and people actively speaking out against these groups, it's not really phasing them much. But then again i'm not an activist type of person.

Now, lets go to the steakhouse and talk more about this.

I stopped eating beef and pork altogether, BUT I do like the occasional hamburger or slice or two of bacon. I'm a semi-vegetarian. For me, it's a personal choice. I saw a show about how hot dogs and sausage are made, and yuckkkkkkkkk!!! Haven't eaten one since..lol :)

If you don't like eating meat don't but animals are there for us to use and its natural that we eat meat. Respect animals but the are not humans.

No, they are not humans. But they are Gods creation. And mankind has been entrusted with their care, which humanity has failed at miserably. While human life should be valued above animal, we are still to treat animals in a way befitting the trust God placed in us to take care of His creation properly.

Like a saying goes, you can judge a nation by how they treat their animals. Something like that.
