Hello again, brothers and sisters. So, I was chatting with my ma the other day, and she said that Heaven is a crowded place where everything is noisy, bright and joyous, and where all people do ALL DAY is praise God. Now, I feel kind of awful saying this, but church is really boring to me, and, the way Heaven is described, dying would mean... church FOREVER.

I mean, God is the best guy I know, and he is well deserving of all the praise he gets, and that's not why Heaven sounds so horrible to me. For one, I hate crowds, which Heaven supposedly has a lot of. Two, praising God FOREVER sounds like it'd get boring pretty fast. And three, since I'd be stuck in the middle of a giant crowd singing praises FOREVER, I'd lose all sense of who I am, and how I differ in my relationship with God from anyone else there. It just sounds so horrible to me!

At this point, Heaven essentially sounds like... just a less miserable alternative to Hell. I mean, it sounds like just another, more decadent way to while away an afterlife. Lame. Would anyone like to explain to me why I'm wrong? Because I have a feeling that I am, or at least that I've recieved a false image of PERFECTION.

There is no Scriptural basis for what you have been told of heaven.

My take on it is that people put too much emphasis on heaven.
There is to be a new heaven and a new earth where we shall be.
Understand? We will not be in heaven. All the old things will have
passed away. You will have no remembrance of former things.
Trying to imagine what it will be like, to be united forever
after with God, with no sin at all, is probably like a caterpillar
trying to imagine what it will be like being a butterfly. Except,
the caterpillar has no way of knowing it is even going to be a
butterfly, much less what it will be like. Nor do we know.

But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”

[SUP]10 [/SUP]But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

The ministry call, also known as the gospel by which we are called, is for a vocation, amongst other things. Our inheritance consists of various things, one of which is a place of structure in the heavenly places, a realm of dominion.

I do wonder about God's current abode, the third heaven, as far as, what is the extent of it and how things will be once the plan of glory is fully achieved. It is my thought, in eternity, there will be a continual praise and glorification of great joy for sharing in the life of God, but we don't read of this happening in the beginning with Adam. God & Adam took pleasure in fellowshipping.

Also, another thing that comes to mind for me, the glorified bodies the new creature in Christ will receive. Scripture gives us glimpses into the structure of things, we don't spend eternity in heaven or on earth, old new or otherwise, this has to do with the all and all of God and the structure to the household of God. Enjoy your bible, it is for preparation of the saints, according to the doctrines of God rightly divided, for a pattern and our learning.

[SUP] [/SUP]For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

it sounds to me like you need a fuller revelation of what this salvation stuff is all about. we aren't window shopping at the mall deciding which one is worth while, we are at war with hell and the devil!

1 Peter 5:8[SUP] [/SUP]Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Ok, so first, I really have never heard any such things about heaven; it is true that it is a place to worship God, but the rest doesn't sound too biblical to me.

Also, the only reason we get bored with worshiping God here on earth is because we are imperfect. We're selfish. Think of the moments you've felt closest to God, the times when you've really overflowed with joy when you were worshiping Him, and then think of that magnified about 100 fold, and that is what I've always imagined heaven being like. Better than that, because we are told we cannot imagine heaven!

Like most people, you need your priories straightened out. What I hear you saying, is "yeah, God's great, He deserves praise, but I'm not willing to give him ALL my time!" I realize that as a Christian you would never actually say that, but that is what you really ARE saying if you honestly look at it. It is something that most (if not all) Christians would say if they honestly look at themselves. But it's sin, and it's something to fight against.

Heaven and Hell aren't even comparable, the Bible makes that abundantly clear. I would recommend reading through the entire Bible; doing so has really helped me better understand God and his promises and purposes for me!

God already knows your thoughts, so why don't you tell him what you're thinking and ask him to give you a more holy view of this thing? He delights in our asking, and I promise he never gets offended if we really desire a true way to look at it all.

Oh how we misconceive!

Its going to exceed your expectations! You will be in the presence of God. He is soo awesome that just being in his presence is like basking in ecstasy. You have already been told the basics, there will be NO pain, NO sorrow, NO death. Just pure joy and happiness forever with no end.

It's not going to be like going to church!! LOL

Imagine this if you will. You know when you're with friends at your favorite place and you just feel alright. Well it will be like that but better. You'll be with all your friends and family in a place that is well alright. You'll be completely happy with it. You're going to be awesome too. You'll have many more talents and abilities. You'll be able to do things you can't even imagine yourself doing now and with such skill as well. You'll be PERFECT.

You'll be so happy that actually, you WILL want to just praise God all the time.

It's not going to be like church at all! LOool ;)

You wont ever get "bored" if that's what you're worried about.

Someone said even if he didnt have a mansion, just a small house or a hut! or he had the least assignment in heaven, that is far far better than the alternative.

I totally understand your confusion surrounding Heaven. I can understand the boredom factor because I had similar beliefs as a child and to some extent, even as a teen. Christendom, for the most part, has done a terrible job of teaching about Heaven, as portrayed in the Bible. The culture influences the Church and for some reason, the Church either consciously or subconsciously tends to promote some pseudo-Gnostic/Eastern Mysticism version of Heaven. That's not what the Bible teaches.

1) Satan and his kind will do anything they can to make sin look tasty and God's way look boring and unfulfilling. But the truth is the other way around.

2) There will be no sin or its consequences, so you won't have to worry about things like anxiety, even amidst massive crowds of believers.

3) It's true that we'll worship God for all eternity, but worship takes many forms. It's not just singing and playing instruments. Worship is whatever you do for the glory of God.

4) You will be more who you are in Christ when you've passed than you can ever hope to be here. We are the Body of Christ, but we are still uniquely who God created us to be. It's by knowing our identity, purpose, authority, future etc. rests in Christ and Christ alone, that we can truly live.

5) When Jesus returns a Second time, followers of Christ will eventually live here on Earth, in a new creation called the New Heavens and New Earth. A place free of sin and its consequences. A place that's strangely familiar in some ways and very different in others. A place where we can be our truest selves and be the happiest we've ever been - all because we will finally be in perfect relationship with our Lord, Saviour, Creator, Redeemer and Friend - Jesus.

I highly recommend this comprehensive study on Heaven, as portrayed in the Bible. It's incredibly interesting and very enlightening.

Yeah anyone that thinks heaven isn't going to be very good needs to look at what Jesus has done for them and then they will see heaven as an opportunity to offer him continual praise and worship for what he done for us. In that he died for us to restore us back to God. Then you will not think of heaven of anything other than just pure bliss, forever.

Its very hard to grasp that from our earthly perspective but that's just how it is.

I hate to burst your bubble there, young man, but your mom has NO inside scoop on what heaven is to be like. She is only assuming or attempting to explain something to you that she herself has much confusion on. Truth hurts, but you should be mature enough to want to draw closer to JESUS and live in the present with HIM as your Savior than to take anyone's word at face value. Confusion only comes from one source..and it certainly isn't from GOD! I would encourage you to find a holy spirit filled bible believing church home where you can grow spiritually. A church that is dull is not a place to promote real praise and glory to GOD...period. Some churches exist only to exist, sadly. I was raised in a fundamental bible believing church also..in fact, my dad is a pastor. However, I have been led to other churches as I've grown and discovered that there are basically two kinds of churches: the Happy/Clappy & the Frozen/Chosen. It all depends on how the congregation decides to conduct their worship services, based on their own traditions and interpretations of the Bible. You have to want to express your praise and joy of your salvation. That comes from within yourself. Your post tells us that you are searching and willing to grow. DO not base your eternity on false information. Live NOW, and discover, as the Holy Spirit leads you, to find heaven on earth by walking with JESUS and growing in HIM..not depending on 'mom'. Talk to JESUS as if HE were your friend sitting beside you and begin to open up to HIM. He will lead you in all matters and doors will open and close as you grow spiritually.

I don't think your mom has been there. Read some of the stuff of people who visited heaven. There were children in Adullam, street kids who went to heaven. The people who took care of them hoped that one didn't die, otherwise the others would become jealous.

...church FOREVER...
This would be purgatory to me, to say the least! :(

However, I'm so glad that this is how it is NOT going to be!

Our loving God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit is a God of ENDLESS variation, and He will NEVER come to an end in amazing us as the endless Ages roll on into eternity!

Every redeemed being, angels and humans will be absolutely staggered each time God will reveal His plans and purposes to them. 1Cor 2v9, Eph 2v7, Rev 21 & 22

Only a certain elect will be in Heaven proper, the rest of us will be on the new earth, which is described in Isaiah 11:6-9, 65:17-25.

I imagine the thought of "Heaven" might be kind of a drag if you had no concept that it all starts right here and now.

No. Everyone will be on the New Heaven and New Earth. And by everyone, I mean God (Father/Son/Spirit), the angels and all of Jesus' followers.

Crustyone...wow...you are definitely living up to your chosen screen name for sure! Yes, indeed...JESUS came to give us LIFE and more abundantly, starting NOW! We do NOT have to live out our existence on earth until our deathbeds to get glimpses of heaven or have a heavenly existence all around us on a daily basis. Even though we walk and talk on this planet (so do fallen angels), we can embrace the joy of our salvation, use our GOD given gifts (1 Corinthians chapt 12) and begin to not only witness heaven here, but give a little heaven to someone else. JESUS plainly tells us that the KINGDOM of GOD is within us. Take it fully for what it's worth. Since the KINGDOM of GOD definitely is WITHIN us, NOW........why not partake of the benefits? It's called walking in the SPIRIT...not being CRUSTY and proud of it. Yes, the BIBLE uses our MINDS. "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your minds"...says my BIBLE...A fresh renewal will have Crustyone whistling a different tune...if you choose heaven NOW. Otherwise, who needs to listen to a 'bah humbug" approach? Others need to see heaven within you in order to choose the kingdom of GOD to be within THEM!
