My potatoes are only small to you, they are quite big to me. That's how it is with potatoes. People have different appetites.

I think this is really common in today's culture.

Parent Style A: Parents make all the decisions for their adolescent teens. It yields their teens to grow up dependent on mommy and daddy to make life decisions and "grow up" living with mom until they are 35.

Parent Style B: Parents don't care what their adolescent teens do. Teens have no structure on how to make mature and wise decisions because they had the reigns over their lives from day 1.
I haven't been following along, but your post came up.
I love it!

Parent Style A: OVER protected and stifled.
Parent Style B: Children are not RAISED, they just GROW.

What the heck happened to Parent Style C???

LOL (but I'm serious!!)

Well I had the same thought as Ariel82.

Parenting style C

Parents try to live godly lives and raise their children to love the Lord through their words and actions. The set firm boundaries and communicate them to their children at an early age and give age appropriate consequences for misbehavior before it builds to become a life altering bad choice. They also allow their children to make age appropriate choices concerning their own life. Always showing that they love them no matter what. Also giving them chores and responsibilities to help the household run smoother....washing dishes, taking out trash, laundry, cooking are all things kids need to learn to do on their own. Might as well let them practice when they are old enough. My kids Have helped with chores, since before they were actually helping.

Lol toddlers can "dry" plastic plates and cups for you.

That's the parenting style I hope most Christians use.

That's funny. XD Different appetites. But I'm sure after some years this will be small potatoes to you, too.

I am being good. Even Mum said that this morning. But she still hasn't forgiven me. She is still watching me like a hawl.

Sorry sweetie, that must be tiresome. But, it'll pass. And I'm so happy for you that you're earning your mother's respect. : D

But it's not about forgiveness, Fran, it's about trust. You can ask her if you need that clarified.

Forgiveness. And trust are too different things. Plus. Like I said before. *hello is this thing on* here and in pm to you that it's about obeying mom no matter what's going on. Trust has to be rebuilt.
It's amazing that this thread has continued this long when the answers are simple.
What if one of us said... .ok Fran we agree with you. Your mom is wrong and unreasonable.
Would that be what you wanted ? Because apparently you don't understand parent /child relationship.
Bottom line. You don't get to pick what mom does.

I pray she hurries up with her trusting. Tell her I trust you, a total stranger from the internet. Come on mom, you can do it.

I think Lady Blue has it right. It's going to take a long time.
