I dont know if I agree with the above statement. Jesus didnt remove himself from our lives. He never gave up, and never will give up, on us. So we shouldnt give up on anyone either
Giving up on pursuing someone for a romantic interest has nothing to do with the way Jesus loves us. Those are two entirely separate types of love and have nothing at all to do with each other.
We are told to use Wisdom. Wisdom is knowing when to walk away. Knowing when the situation is not good for us and knowing we shouldn't be in it.

And, actually, the bible does have precedents of people separating from each other, or being cast out. So it's not at all unbiblical. In fact the bible says 'bad company corrupts good character'. So clearly we should not be engaging too much with 'bad company', if it all.
Paul also taught to, under certain circumstances, to remove people out of the church and send them back among the wolves.

But, again, this is not what you are discussing. You are hung up on a girl that doesn't want to date you any longer. You are in no way at all being like Jesus by ignoring her requests and pursuing her. That is selfishness, not Godliness. And selfishness is Not loving.

Christs love was sacrificial. He died on the cross for us. But he doesn't try to pressure us into following him. He loved us, proved his love selflessly and lets people decide for themselves. And when someone says they don't want Christ in their lives, he listens. So, the truth is, you have this whole situation backwards and are trying to spiritualize non-spiritual issue so that you can try to get your own way. I'm not going to buy that, no matter what excuse you use.

Ugh I hate when that happens.
Or you say something and you are like
Wow....I just sounded like my father (or mom) haha
Wait until you are your mother. I looked down once and realized I was wearing her choice in slippers and bathrobe. I went directly to a mirror and realized I am her... but older!

You think you're doing that now. Just wait about a decade.

I'll never forget walking past a small mirror in a hallway and thinking "I've never seen that picture of my uncle before." Uggghhh
Wow! Your uncle looks like a young Tom Selleck too? hubbahubba!

Well I don't even live with them so I hope sounding like them won't be as big a problem for me haha

As for looking like them
I already look like my father haha
It's more the looking like, then the sounding like. We spend way too much time growing up promising we'd never do that when we're they're age, that we carefully craft ourselves away from sounding like. (Unless I say, Geeeesh!)

Colt, you posted a while ago that you want to be a firefighter, right? I know you care about people, so why do you go running them down?? Why would you feel like a burden to others? We are all human beings, made in the image of God. Don't you think it is disrespectful to him to run ourselves (or others) down?

There's a lot of exelent advice here, and I don't think I can add anything more except these special words from Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." He wants that for YOU!

The bible says "Give and shall be Given to you." I gave everything to her. My love, heart, and trust, but she trashed it and threw it back to me.
This kind of giving is generosity - buying a homeless man a meal, helping a broke widow make her rent, carrying someone's heavy bag for them. It isn't about giving in a relationship. God also intends us to give secretly and without expectation of return. And lastly, the place we give to is not necessarily where we receive back from. It's not a tit for tat kind of thing, it's a treat others as you would yourself, and then God who sees in secret will reward you for that. But you don't get to dictate what that reward will be.

Heres the thing...you asked for good advice. And you got a lot of it. Good, honest, and maybe a little blunt...

Not because anyone wanted to upset you but because you asked for it and they cared enough to take the time to reply.
Trust me...dont listen and you'll regret it eventually.

I don't think I will be able to be a mother.
I'm too scared of being too much like my father.
Can't put my poor kids through that haha

I always feel honored when someone says "wow, you just opened your mouth and your mother/father jumped out!" And, this is probably a little rude, I respect my aunts as people, but I would far better prefer to age like my mom than like her sisters!! ;)

I've never really had a good parent example except from my pastor or how my step mom used to be
