So,
The school day went great!
I got confused with one class and went to the wrong classroom (but everyone else did too cuz the schedules were messed up)
I met some nice people which was easier than I thought it was going to be.
I forgot my volleyball shorts for tryouts though and had to run a mile and a half back to the house to get them and run a mile and half back to the school to start tryouts
Because of that I was late (great first impression, right?)
And with how sick I am and how much conditioning we did I'm not feeling very well.
I had to use my emergency inhaler for the first time in forever lol
5 people quit just today
glad it went good...only getting confused on one class isnt bad. I did worse lol.
3 miles plus tryouts is pretty beast...dont quit. You got it. But remember your stuff lol.

Today's your first day! Details details!!! I hope it was fun.

Okay, my advice. Watch Mean Girls. No, really. Because there are SO MANY mean girls in high school. I was one of them actually. It'd be useful to have a heads up.

You'll save yourself from so much trouble if you start learning how to be a toughie. And by toughie I mean, start taking responsibility of your life. Not saying that you are not, but know that other people won't give a darn about what's going on with you. And that will hurt. Instead of expecting people to make you happy, know that you can decide to be happy knowing that the King of kings and the Lord of lords is on your side. :)

And everything else they already posted here!

So,
I am starting high school tomorrow.
I am a mixture if excited and nervous lol

Its a big jump because from first to 8th I went to a small charter school and I know no one at this high school which is completely different for me haha

Any advice from anyone? :p

Take your studies seriously, apply yourself as much as you can to educating yourself, it's the best thing you can do. Make sure you spend lots of time outdoors doing physical activity it's the best thing for the brain and spirit. You're a growing girl and this part of your development is incredibly important, so eat as healthily as can, it will pay off in dividends.

DO NOT get involved in cliques in high school or any kind of bullying - those people are insecure and have their own unresolved personal issues - you are better than this. You know yourself in Christ, bear His fruits only!

The last thing I think I can give you is what I give to my own students daily - verbal affirmation:

You are a beautiful, intelligent, happy, joy filled, Christ centered girl - I believe you can go forward and continue to do God's will with your life.

"Make the best of your time, it goes very quickly" is great advice! Sometimes it blows my mind to think I'm 50 years old and graduated in 1984. I do miss the 80's!

Sob! Bring back the 80's - my childhood!!

The most important advice other than just being yourself is avoiding drama. I know that may be a bit harder since your a girl. Drama seems to gravitate around that gender, but avoid clicks and most importantly I suggest avoiding dating all together. I had practically drama free school life because I avoided dating. That's up to you though it's just a suggestion. How was your first day?

I went to a different high school for all 4 years of high school, so I was perpetually "the new girl." Here's what I learned:
1. Get there early, because you will get lost and lost often.
2. Pay attention to where you're going, because all the corridors look the same, but they're not.
3. Memorize your locker combination. Memorize it so hard you'll remember it 40 years from now. (Alas. I only remember the one 40 years later. lol)
4. Yes, it is scary. A quarter of the student body are just as terrified as you are.
5. You will survive. The first day is the scariest and it gets less scary every day after that.
6. You will thrive. Hard to believe but by the first day of autumn you will forget the horror of the first day. By the time Halloween comes along you will be deciding what to do with some new friends who don't feel new at all. All those course you're taking that you're sure absolutely no one will ever understand on that first day... will also make sense. (Not to be mistaken with easy.)
7. Some classes will be hard. Some will be easy.
8. If you need to take a bus NEVER miss the bus.
9. You too will someday tell your kids you walked to school and back from school in four feet of snow uphill without shoes. It's a thing, never to be taken as the kids will believe you.
10. Over 150 MILLION Americans still alive today have survived high school. Many before them that aren't still alice. You will too.

So have fun and considered the scary part like a rollercoaster ride. At least you can see when the bends and curves are coming. Better yet, rollercoaster rides aren't all that long.

I was late almost every day for the first part of my freshmen year. I eventually gave up on my locker and just carried everything in my backpack so I wouldn't be late. I didn't have a problem after that lol
