I hope I am doing everything right
Chances are you aren't. And that's ok. God doesn't require perfection.
Keep reading...keep focusing on God and keep asking for His direction. You'll be fine then.

I hope I am doing everything right, lately I have been just going through the motions. I way up read my Bible go through the day at night do my devotions and go to bed. I just feel like something is missing ever since these thoughts. some people have said that it is just satan trying to blur and scramble my feeling and emotions to make me feel bad. I feel like i am somewhat heard hearted about this whole issue or like I am building a wall so I don't have to think about it. I don't even know anymore....sometimes I think about what if I'm not concerned enough because I'm not as scared as i was when the thoughts first started. I just kinda brush it off now and pray for mercy and that im not condemned.

Casey, it's going to be ok. Many of us, myself included, have gone through virtually exactly what you are now. One of the keys for me was to stop focusing on myself so much, the sins I committ, the feelings, the what ifs, and focus on what JESUS has DONE for me, and continues to do, If you have accepted Him, asked Him into your heart, believe He is who He says He is, know that He died and rose to life again, then YOU are a daughter of the one true King!!

Let that sink in a minute. YOU are His Child! He will NEVER abandon His child. He LOVES YOU!

Now go and joyfully add to His Kingdom as He gives you power to preach His Gospel.

Hi Casey! Welcome to CC. Your Spiritual status says "unsure". That's really the whole ball game. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, then He said He would NEVER leave you nor forsake you. Please read 1 John 5:13.
May God's peace, Grace and Love fill your heart and mind. In Jesus sweet Name I pray.
The enemy of our souls loves to play on our uncertainity, study how much God loves you, google it, and fill your spirit with those beautiful words, meditate on them, let them fill you with love and peace
Gods got you, count on it!!!

Think on These Things

7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think on these things.

I think that I am just going to serve Jesus to the best of my ability and continue to ask Him to equip me to be the best person that I can be. I will start praying for the Fruit of The Spirit in my life as an assurance of my salvation in Him and as an assurance that I have not committed the unforgivable sin .

That is all any of us can do, as He has done the rest for us. I would like to add that fruit takes a good while to grow, but that does not mean not to pray for it, just don't wake up every morning and think, Is there any fruit on my tree? :) Oh and please read the post that I just made called Word Curses can hinder you, I think it may be some help. God Bless you richly!!

Hi Casey
I am so glad to hear you are going to give your life to the Lord and serve Him. There is no guarantee in life with anything. Do not expect smooth sailing. Get up each day and give it to God and trust Him no matter what cross your path. Give Him praise when all goes well. Give Him praise and ask for help when things don't go so well. And when the really, really hard times come...trust His promises to you...." I will never leave you nor forsake you" He will hold your hand while you ride out the storms. Casey, I am praying for you. May God bless you.

I am still struggling with this. It's weird there is like this feeling that just comes over me and tells me that there is no hope for me and that I am doomed. I find that some days I feel like I am lacking desire for God and that im just going my own way. I don't want it to be that way though. I want it to be where I can turn to Him no matter what and that I know I am not condemned. I have also noticed that lately I sin willfully knowing what I am doing and knowing it is wrong the whole time. I then afterward feel bad and ask God to forgive and to please just help with all of this. I ask Him to speak to me, but I don't know if He is. Maybe I just need to be patient but its just hard when Im feeling like there is no hope, so why bother.

Casey, you can't hear him speak to you, because you have so much "noise" in your head. Clear out those thoughts and BELIEVE that you are NOT condemned. Jesus died for your sins, ALL of them. Stop worrying. :)

Pray to God to remove them from you. Change your attitude from a pessimistic one to an optimistic one.. And start believing that you are not condemned.

Look, the enemy is real, there are many in league with him, basically the spirit of an entire type of animal, when you read that a spirit popped the thought into your mind, and you couldn't identify where it came from, and assumed you made it, because it messed with you, it's happening more often, but you don't think anything until you consciously decide to think it, which means if it pops into your mind, you're not liable for it unless you agree and accept it as your own thought

In the bible it says love keeps no record of sins and wrongs. Now god is love and love is god, therefore he does not hold your sin against you, he does not hold all your wrongs against you ever, or if it were not the case god would not be love because love keeps no record of sins

DO NOT LOSE HOPE!

Paul said, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved" (Romans 10:9-10).

This is the only requirement of salvation! Now you have the free will to choose things of God, or to chose your own human nature, whereas before you could only choose the latter. YOU ARE UNDER GRACE! Scripture tells us that you cannot lose your salvation (Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.)

Now that you are God's child, this does not mean that you should commit sin just because it's covered, rather if you are saved you will have the desire NOT to sin, and will be very convicted when you do. The fact that you are worried about committing these sins shows conviction. You just need to not be paranoid about it and just let the Spirit do the work in you that is His will. :)

Some things that will help your walk with GOD. Once you understand what these mean, they become easier:

Pray. (prayer is not designed for God to change His mind. It is designed to change your heart. It is not designed to try to make God do something. It is designed to humble yourself before Him and clear the path for HIM to do the work in you)

Read your Bible. (The infallible and inerrant literal WORD of God. The Almighty Creator of ALL things gave us this collection of texts in order to guide us closer to Him! When we are closer to Him, we are at peace, no matter the circumstance.)

Tithe. Tithing is the one action God says to test Him (Mal. 3:10–12) Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

And finally, hang out with other Christians. Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Also for the energy. Energy attracts like energy, and being around a certain crowd influences you to become more like that crowd (Like hanging out with Jesus to become more like Him). A wise man once said 'you become who you hang out with'.

I hope this helps, and I am always open for questions or difficulties you might have concerning your Christian Faith. :)

God bless!

Maybe it's time for you to stop the doing and trying. You were incapable of pleasing God before you were saved, right? Then why do you think you become capable after?

Only one answer to that. We ain't! It is God working through us. Enjoy that. Rejoice in that. And then see if it doesn't lead you back to wanting more God, instead of more you!
