Ok prime example here me and two sisters ok hear me out. First sister very smart got all the praise got pushed hard to do well. She did she pushed as hard as she could it was long and hard for her. today she has a beautiful house on 8 acres. she has her husband two great danes. a corvette as a toy. And all the money she will ever need she went on to school to be a pharmacist and then continued even farther to get her masters in Business. She has traveled the world Europe Scotland etc... never has to worry about where her next meal is coming from or if her light bill will be shut off. other two sisters. Well both dropped out of school one had kids at a young age of 20 the other went on t o work yucky jobs. Now both struggling to make ends meet. worry about being able to pay bills. Now just trying to get that education our mother pushed so hard for. In our 40 we are doing what should have been done in the early 20 year old years. So lesson your mother is pushing you but it is so you do not fall later on. So it is for your own Good honestly. Take it from me you do not want to be 40 something trying to get a degree and going after good jobs that people in their 20's are going for chances are the younger one will steal it away from you. just some food for thought..

Not saying being an adult is fun, but, I am 99.85% sure I won't miss this
I love being an adult theres such a freedom and even when I was working your on your own and you have alot more responsibility you make your own decisions I still submit to my parents I love my parents and I want to please them .
but I found one stage talking to my youth pastors wife i broke down and cried when I was in my last year of school
I can definitely understand immense stress ,loaded down with difficult schoolwork whereas my friends glided thru the work I spent hours after school at times trying to finish my work everyones got their own intelligence I am an intelligent introvert i just dont show it thru general knowledge I couldnt finish my highschool degree . Youll love being an adult . but renewed is right teen years are precious and fun theres nothing like them. Enjoy them. The curriculum / the school work load is too much and that was 12 years ago for me .

Fran pray for the solution and love and care about yourself enough to do that.
Imho your parents seem like they are strict from the other threads . look for what you desire in the situation
God wants you to have his godly desires of your heart given to you.
Do you want people who wont put expectations on you you cant meet and you enjoy being around them you feel
free pray and make friends with Christians like this people in your church too.
Fran love yourself you got to work your spiritual field, Proverbs 12:11 you want God's best, your desires
youve got to work it work on it youve got to chase after it and get it dont just receive what life dishes out to you
have vision get vision for you life God's vision to think "the lord loves me" " he is my future and has a future hope for me" "this is the person I am in him now and this will be the much stronger Christian desire God "the abundant life " John 10:10 see below run after the things of God . Pray more and sow seeds God's given you spiritual land - the life you have now and want in him
territory, prayer is working muscles spiritual muscles God is so lovingly faithful and has been so good to me my whole life
as a child I started off with not only was I not filled with the Spirit so that made all my praying and life seem hard but my prayers
started as not much I prayed selfish prayers Lost library books were a big thing for me but none to me but through the grace of the Lord Im able to pray for big things now like one time I prayed 100,000 dollars would be donated from New Zealand for a particular natural disaster/crisis in africa? I think it was and God answered my prayer ! God does these things not us not me amazingly Ive prayed for friends to encounters with God and they have! God is amazing and AWESOME... so look to God and
he will start giving you your hearts desires its not easy at first but I ve worked my spiritual land bless the lord he gave me a prayer ministry God is the best and greatest! amen? Halleluyah!
    were fighting for you Fran

2 Then the Lord answered me and said:

    “Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
    3
    For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
    Though it tarries, wait for it;
    Because it will surely come,
    It will not tarry.

Greatest way to live in whatever you do for the glory of God (thats other verses not this one) and in this verse its saying do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God our Father through him.

The best advice I can give you is to embrace your education as much as possible. It's one of life's greatest privileges to go through school and be educated. So don't think of it as 45 minutes of history or geography. Embrace every sentence, every activity involved in that time to get as much out of the lesson as you can. Stay in school for as long as you possible can for the best future. Even though I have my career I'm constantly doing professional development and another course on the side because I believe it's so important to better yourself through education, do the same!

Thanks for all the positive comments.
Mum is super strict and school is more like boot camp. I don't mean to get in trouble and I do work hard, just not as hard as anyone wants.

    I totally get you,
My guardians are also super strict,
Sometimes it's impossible to live up to those standards, just keep working towards improvement always, even if you do sometime reach the high standards your mom sets

lol my teachers can tell you about me and injustice haha. The thing is that I dont accept injustice. And I can bring my point across boldly without being directly disrespectful but still show the line. Showing also that you can be all fun with me. Had to learn that with my Mr Drill Sargent father. Tone and words and body language are the key little sister.

My new math teacher had a surprise one day. As you know..I struggle with math veeery much and one day instead of correcting me, he called me lazy infront of the class.
Then the next schoolday I knocked at the teachers office and asked him for a talk alone. So when he came I went ''Mr (ill just say X) I wanted to talk to you about the way you spoke to me on friday in class. You called me lazy''
and he went'' Oh I remember, I had a really bad day and I meant that in general, not specifically you''

And I went'' Sir with all respect, this was not a general observation, you addressed me directly and that was absolutely degrading and under all nivo. I know you are stressed a lot but it indeed was was unjustified and unfair. You know I struggle in math and need extra help at times.

And he said ''Im sorry for hurting your feelings. Its really hard sometimes to stay nice. Sometimes people just rather get the teacher instead of trying to figure it out and think. I definitely didnt mean to hurt you''

And I said '' Mr X I know that and I agree that many do not try at all. But you dont want me to talk to you like that so I also expect that you dont. If I would talk to you the way you talked to me, I would get into trouble and you wouldnt take it either. You have my full support towards the issue in the class, but still I dont want to be treated like that.

So he told me that I was right and shouldnt have done that, especially not like that and it will not happen again and that he appreciated me coming instead of doing anything else.
And I thanked him for taking his time to talk with me about it and listening me out and since then I get along with him very well and he has been very correct towards me.

I dont know your dad in law but from your rants he seems like hes pretty hard headed. I dont think I would have issues with him lol Believe it or not. The more hardcore people are, the better I usually get along with them. But like said, I dont know him well enough.

Yeah I know the feeling. Not everyone is the same. I for myself I cannot study hrs on end every single day. My head just stops working so sometimes people that dont know me think I dont work hard, tho for me I do. I get along better if I study 2 or 3 days before the exam (generally I study on weekends or if I got a few hrs off and get home early), unlike every day. I remember passages and stuff fast and effectively.
I remember for one exam I missed one hr and people didnt give me all of the work they did. And like 10-20 mins before the exam I saw that the girl who sits beside me had stuff I havent seen before so I asked her about it and I was like OOOOH SHOOOT. So I took like 10mins and remembered it all and guess what, that was in the exam and I had it all lol! I was lucky for sure.
And the thing is, grades do not defile intelligence. We are all unique. My advice for you is that if theres something you struggle with..Watch youtube vids about it (that saved me a few times) and put post-its all over lol! Thats what I do with mathematical formulas. Your smart. Im sure you can figure something out.

Do you work hard enough for you?

I now go with 90% effort. 100% is too hard to maintain all the time. Anything less doesn't do the trick, at least for me. (And I did 70% when I was in school, and regret that to this day.)

Important thing to learn before you face the world. Learn what YOU can do. Not what you think you can do, but what you can do. Go bold. If you fail, what happens? A bad grade? I already told I averaged a lazy B. I got a D once. Do you remember the day the earth tilted on its axis? No? Good, because I got a D and it didn't. My family was upset. We all got over it.

My best grade ever? A C in geometry! Why is a C better than the occasional A I got? Because I worked it 90% and earned that! (I would have gone for 100% there, but a lot was going on, and there are always moments I just can't face the what-I-should-be-doing parts.) I'm no good with spatial and equations with capital letters in it makes no sense to me. (L X W? Which is the length and which is the width of a rug? It's on its side. How am I supposed to know if I even placed it right? Imagine me when it hit a circle. What the heck is Pi if it's not filled with fruit and baked?) But I worked hard. As hard as I could, and dagnabit, I got a C. Brilliant! In the beginning of the year I was sure I'd fail all year long!

So, stop judging by your family standard or your school standard. Judge from your standard. What is the best possible level you can maintain over long-term? Go for that.

You're Mom will end up being an empty-nester. You still have to live with you for the rest of your life. Become who you are supposed to be in Christ and give yourself a break if it doesn't come easy. It never will, unless God gives you a special kind of life. Learn to give it the best you can, and let God's plan unfold. Maybe you won't go to the university your Mom has picked out. By that time, you might already have a better plan. Because when you're doing it for God and you, it all falls together even when you fail.

And the only stress left is what belongs on your shoulders -- what do I think of what I've done? What does God think of what I've done? MUCH less stress than adding your mom, the school, other students, teacher, the traffic guard, and that stupid trash can where you'd throw your crumpled papers, but the stupid trash bag is so tight the paper always bounces off.

My oldest brother was always the one to test the waters. We tended to see what he could get away with and what he couldn't get away with to judge if we had the guts to do something like he had no problems boldly doing.

But we were all in Catholic school together. One day, the nun pulled him in front of the class and put him down for quite some time for something he didn't deserve. The whole class watched.

And then Mom found out. Mom was That Mom. She was the girl scout leader, until I was old enough for Brownies, and then she became the Brownie leader. She was the Den Mother for my brothers when they were in cub scouts, and became one of the officers for the boy scouts when they became boy scouts. And all the scouts were under the auspice of our local Catholic Church. When a teacher at the school was sick, Mom subbed. When the lunch lady was sick, Mom was the lunch lady. when the librarian couldn't come in... (Mom kept popping up everywhere. So. embarrassing. lol) And, she even cleaned the entire (marble -- big sucker) altar at the church. (Very intricate too, so lots and lots and lots of nooks and crannies. Took her three days, and she could clean our five bedroom house in less time. lol) So, she was very important to that church.

Mom heard. Mom was good friends with the Mother Superior. (Catholic version of Principal.) Mom went to Mother Superior's office and cussed a mean streak. The next Monday all three of us were in public school.

She had no problems with us getting slapped on the top side of our hands with a yardstick when we deserved it. (It bruised.) She had no problems with us getting twapped by the pointer to the back of the head. (It left lumps.) BUT you do NOT hurt her kids when her kids do not deserve it. and she will tell you about it upside one way, down the other, and slice and dice in between.

And even after that, she'd go back to visit her friend, the Mother Superior.

What she learned from her dad --a one-star general. lol

What she learned from her dad --a one-star general. lol
    God bless you

Besides the breaking the rules part (I won't judge don't worry) I was completely the same. High School sucked, was the worst four years of my life. I still don't know how I got through. Would I want to go back? Heck no but there were still things I wish I have done to prepare me for college and/or everyday life. I say trust in God and pray to help you get through this. You shouldn't have all this pressure at a young age, explain to her that letting you be a little more free will probably be beneficial to you. Most teens are not good people, I learned that first hand but you shouldn't try to seek their approval. Seek the approval of yourself and that's all that matters. They won't be there for you when you need them but God will so always trust in him. Remember people are going through the same thing as you, maybe worst. I sure did. Good luck

Yeah I don't feel the same, I'll be shocked if I do. I's been 5 years since I left high school and I never went back to visit when I know alot of former students have.
