So I am a brand new Christian; I gave my life to Christ yesterday. I am so grateful for what God has done for us and I want to live my life to bring glory to Him. However, the real world, as it turns out, isn't so great. I live in a community full of so-called christians, so when I professed my faith, I figured there would be mostly positive feedback on that front. But as it turns out.....most of them assumed I already was a christian because I was nice to people and they saw me at church a few times. So now everyone thinks I'm saying all of this for attention and it really sucks because all I want to do is talk about what God has done for me and for the world and bring glory to Him...but the very people who I thought would support me are bringing me down. I'm not sure how to deal with the real world. All I want to do is worship Him.

Always remember that your relationship with God is what brings you to eternal life with Him...

Never allow the quality of your relationships with other fallible human beings cause problems with your relationship with God..

My Advice is very important FairlyInsane.. Humans being humans will let you down and you being human will let yourself down.. It does not matter if the whole human race rejects you or mocks you or treats you unjustly.. Because if God is with you then you have Everything..

Do you know of the Bible story of Noah and the boat called the Arch... Noah believed God but He was mocked and looked upon as being a fool by all his countrymen.. But in the end Noah was saved because he believed and trusted God while all his countrymen drowned and died...

The best form of worship is to believe and trust in God.. To love Him and love your fellow human beings.. Yeh love them even if they fail you..

May the LORD guide you and protect you from all deceptions.. :)

The only thing that truly matters is what God thinks of you. Try not to allow what people say in world bother you. That very well could be God revealing to you who are his and who are not. I can assure you the body of Christ over those who have accept Christ as their Lord

Thank you. I think that more than anything I have been discouraged by myself today. I get so irritated with them, and although I haven't acted on it, that sin is in my heart. I want more than anything to be a living testimony to God's glory, but it is so difficult.

Hi

I am thinking you are being to hard on yourself.

The scripture encourages us by saying the following if we sinned:

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

You still brand new christian, so you also need to learn to look to Jesus. We are going to fail and make mistake, yet we are imperfect and fallible human beings. Christ is what we also meditate on.

I think is wisest decision you could have made.

And like you experience not everyone is going to happy with decision.

Welcome to the family.

Blessings

I'm glad to hear that you gave your life to Christ yesterday. That's the most important decision that you will ever make. The real world is as it is and can be either good or bad depending on your outlook. It is a real shame that these so-called Christians did not take the time to congratulate on you for making the right choice and to offer helpful spiritual counsel on how to start moving forward in your new spiritual journey. No wonder you are discouraged. Hopefully, you will find comfort, support and understanding from certain members on this site. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

The road less traveled can indeed be a hard and lonely place at times. I pray that God brings the right people into your life that will make a dramatic positive difference and have the world be a better place for you being a part of it.

You remind me of me.

You will find out that people are fickle. But beyond that, there are those issuing out life, while others minister death. Pick the right ones to hang out with. You need the older, elderly ones that love JESUS in your life. Ask God to hook you up with some solid elderly. Offer to do some things for them. You will gain a goldmine of stability, counsel, and intercession. That one thing will take you a million miles.

Hello sister! Welcome to the family!! :). I could not be more excited for you. What an amazing memory to have given your life to God on Resurrection Sunday! I'm sure that's an experience you'll remember for a long time.

I understand the community you live in--I have the same kind of people around me :(. Thankfully several of my family members are real Christians, so I'm not totally alone, and do you know what? You're not either! I cannot believe that no one in your entire community is NOT christian. Do you have a church? It might take some time, but I think you'll be able to sift through all the christians-in-name-only and be able to find some true Christians who want to worship and glorify God just like you. In the mean time, rely on God and tell your joys and praises to Him. He listens and understands better than any person ever could!

Feel free to PM me if you need to talk :).

[SUP]"[/SUP]Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."

Well the Lord tells us we'll experience persecution. Just have to make sure that it doesn't cause you to fall away. Remember, for everyone who has a problem with your decision to live for Jesus there's one who understands and supports you in your walk with God. Stay faithful always.

I'm sorry that church is not acting the way the body of Christ should in this situation. You aren't the first person who has been let down by a church. All I can say Isabel comfort in God, hide your heart in his word, and I will also suggest finding yourself a better church. No church is going to be perfect, being as it is full of people, but when you find the right church for you it will really help you. I know when I was feeling at my lowest, I found that the only place where I genuinely felt alright was when I was at church, surrounded by other believers, while the word of God was speaking to me. The church was established for a reason, sister, as I hope you will come to experience. Keep treading on!

But they that wait upon he Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
