For those who say music is simply music..

"When the mode of the music changes, the walls of the city shake." said Plato, "When modes of music change, the fundamental laws of the state change with them."

"The introduction of a new kind of music must be shunned as imperilling the whole state."

"...through foolishness they, the people, deceived themselves into thinking that there was no right or wrong in music, that it was to be judged good or bad by the pleasure it gave...a spirit of law breaking." - Est. 400 A.D Plato.

Although this is not from scripture, I believe it is a wise word none the less.
Let's take a trip back to the later fifties where Elvis Presley the King of Rock n' Roll was in full swing.
Did you know that when he was first shown on live television, he was filmed from the waist up only, because his swinging and jiving hips was considered to be suggesting sexual behaviour and received many complaints.

In the 1960's the Rolling Stone's had to change their song title from "Let's spend the night together" to "Let's spend some time together" cause of it's sexually suggestive lyrics.

Now to say we haven't desensitized ourselves to the content of lyrics and it's undoubtedly capability to influence, is surely foolishness and to dismiss it as "weelll it's only music!" is surely also foolishness . For a song titled "Let's spend the night together" to be considered sexually inappropriate, people would openly laugh at that thought now only 50 years later. In fact even 20 years later that would have probably been laughed at. We now have songs from the likes of "Enrique Iglesias - (Tonight I'm F**king You)" and girls from the age of 13/14 going around singing it and listening to it thinking nothing of it, and the music videos now a days can be so sexually motivated it's almost unbelievable. Yet we dismiss it as simply music.

It's something Satan is using to slip past us brothers & sisters, wake up! Satan himself was in charge of the worship music in heaven before being cast out. Hence why aleister crowley used to tell SATAN worshippers to channel him to enchance their music capabilities.. As Satan used music to receive praise for God when in heaven, he now uses it on earth to receive praise for HIMSELF.

Search this documentary series on Youtube, it is of value.. "THEY SOLD THEIR SOULS FOR ROCK N' ROLL"

TFK is good...but I think someone should listen to what they like, and it gets on my nerves when people say "you cannot listen to this if you are a Christian"...That is so judgemental!!! I do not particularly like Slipknot, but if someone does, NOONE should tell them they can not listen to them!

Favorite band= Thrice. A guy on a Christian music forum introduced me to them. I loved the depth of the lyrics, the intelligent allusions and that the lead singer sings of his faith. It is raw, powerful stuff.

Here's a song from one of their newer albums. Heavy music warning, for those who dislike hard rock.
Thrice - Yellow Belly [Official Audio Stream] - YouTube

Rock is my favorite genre, as I have always had trouble expressing emotions- but I can relate to the power, the intensity of the feeling in rock music.
