Help! I'm lost.

I am writing this because I am seeking help. About 2 years ago, I started wandering, lost, stray from God. I grew up in a Christian Family, But it seems that lately I am going further and further away from god. I don't feel anything when I pray. I want to be back, but I can't. Something is stopping me. I want to be close to God, and Jesus, But I cant. I enjoy listening to Youth Conferences, and Youth Sermons, I enjoy them alot. But For some reason I just can't get closer to God. I have this like, block from it. It's killing me, I have many sleepless nights, where i have this Huge Weight on my chest. I accepted Christ in 2006, but things like the, Internet, Friends, School, have driven me away from god. Very far. Please If anybody has any advice.

I know exactly how you feel, I went through those times repeatedly in my walk with Christ. I would suggest repentance. I think that block is usually unconfessed sin, or addiction that we won't surrender to God. You need to put God first, if your friends, school, ect are getting in the way then maybe things need to change. Also, read the Bible everyday. God speaks to us from his word, so if you can't hear him in during prayer at least you know his word is eternally true and relevant for you today. Give God the steering wheel to your life, and you'll soon find yourself on the road again. Also, I would suggest finding someone you trust to talk to, maybe a pastor or youth leader. Sometimes simple conversation opens our eyes

Have you heard Youth pastor Judah Smith?? He's really cool! I've heard him talk about Luke 15 and the prodical son who leaves his father but then comes back to open arms...its so the same for you-God's grace can never fall short of us. I had an interesting thought, about how even if my sins were to grow greater and greater, still God's grace would override, overtake me everytime. It's inescapable!

Do ya think maybe the blockage is like guilt or something??? Have you accepted God's grace. Repentance means to change your thinkng to God's way of thinking...(just a little nugget I remembered)

heey ,well i think many people struggle with those feelings ,about two years ago i got bapticed and totaly gave mt life to christ but after that moment i totaly run away from him ,and like what you said the things like school friends stuff like that ,it so easy to feel those things instead of God,but i believe God wants to break trough these things and come back in youre life,seek him in things like praying and talk it over with people who you can trust and love to lord to! and you remember that story in the bible were the lost son is comming back to his father thats the same with us good luck on your way!

Yeah, I guess your advice is Spot on. I do have an addiction that is really hard to surrender to God. I do read the bible every day, but now I will probably try and understand it, not like i did, just read it for the heck of it, you know?

No, I haven't heard of him, but the story of the Father and son, is pretty helpful.

Thanks, School, and friends do get in the way. I'll have to change some things.
