Thanks for your opinions, guys. :) I don't think it's bad.... It's just not my style in music. I don't like it because I just can't stand the sound and can't understand it. People also say that you have to get used to it to understand..... lol.

I've been into this part of the music scene for about 3 years now and I'm not 100% for God and it totally changed my reasons for being in the scene. It gave me a brand new mission and purpose for being in it. It's to share God to kids that really need Him the most. Honestly, this is probably one of the most powerful ministries I've ever seen. Even more powerful than what you do at home with churches and going out to the communities around to help others. One of the bands that gave me inspiration to continue doing what I'm called to do here is For Today. Their whole career is totally based on what the Bible teaches. They worship our God through their music and during their shows, before, and after, they'll be sharing the Gospel to everyone in the crowd. That's true worship right there. That's what pleases God the most.

I dont even get how this is a debate. If it is Christian and brings people to love Christ then it is beautiful in my eyes. Even if I dont like the way it sounds.

I agree. You guys are acting like they're murdering people just because they're playing music you don't like. Just cuz you don't like the genre doesn't mean you have to call it sin. Let me ask you this: for what reason do you think these Christian bands make music like that? Do you think they want to play demonic music with Christian lyrics just for the heck of it? That wouldn't even make the slightest bit of sense. Obviously they, like many of the people in this forum, like hardcore music. And is it really a sin for them to take the genre they like and turn it into praise and worship to glorify God? I think it's great for people who like that music to be able to listen to it but without the sex, drugs, and other wordly stuff. And trust me, I HATE hardcore music of any kind. I think it sounds stupid, and I hardly consider it to be music at all. I love acoustic guitars and folk music. But if someone's gunna use that music that I think is horrible to glorify God and even possibly bring people to Christ, I'm not gunna stand here and tell them it's wrong. And neither should any of you.

I don't care about screamo, but religion has invaded music that it really has no place in before, like black metal and death metal. Remember, guys, religion and black metal are just two things that don't go together. You're just not convincing anyone who listens to, say, Bathory to join your side.

I believe Christian screamo music is good. The lyrics are worshiping God, right? That's all that matters. It's not the genre of the music that considers it praise/christian music - it's the lyrics.

And for those of you that think Christian screamo music is just pure unmusical noise, below is a link of some screamo music that has a nice blend between singing and screamo that you may like.

I listen to secular metalcore music so long as the lyrics don't clash with my beliefs anyway, so I especially love finding Christian metalcore bands. I love bands like Underoath, For Today, Norma Jean, Haste The Day in Gwen Stacy. Underoath is my favorite and I really admire Aaron Gillespie and the work he does.
The way I see it the particular voice used does not personify a religion, lack of religion or anti-religion in a song. Only the lyrics and heart put into it do.

Maybe it's not the point to convert all Bathory fans to like their Christian black metal band. Maybe they're just giving Christians an alternative to listen to that's clean to listen to but is still the same style of music.

Most mainstream Christian music is watered down. There is no message of God in most of it, in fact, it is generalized to the point where you don't know what god they are worshipping....Don't be deceived people, satan is one cunning and powerful dude, and if you don't put on the whole armor of God he will destroy you with his deceptions. Don't get me wrong there are heavy Christian bands out there who do sing about scripture and salvation of the Lord, praising God...but most don't. If they are mainstream musicians then they have most likely sold their soul to the devil to get there. And for the record, Lamb of God is not a christian band in any sense, have you ever been to one of their concerts? They openly worship satan. Nuff said.

if you want some heavy music with a good message, listen to P.O.D. - especially their older stuff. P.O.D. - "every knee" is one of my faves :)

Any "Christian" band that would promote anything that is not of God eg. mosh pits, violence, throwing up devil horns, they are surely not bringing people to God, and in all honestly they are not a Christian band and are in fact working for the enemy. Even the demons call Jesus lord and call him by name

James 2:19
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Wow, you are a funny guy, what a clever thing to say....thats all you got?! If you think the violence of a moshpit is "fun" then you need to find some other outlets. Back in my days of disobedience I regularly took part in the moshpits: bloody noses, black eyes, broken bones, people getting carried out in stretchers....THAT IS YOUR IDEA OF FUN?! Get thee behind me satan in the name of Christ!

I think ill chill in front of you since im satan according to you. And back in your days? im sure ive moshed more than you ever will. never once have i broken my bones or been injured in a mosh neither have i hurt anyone else. there is nothing inherently evil about mosh pits. its a conglomeration of the people inside. if you surrounded yourself with evil and saw those things..well im not surprised. ive been in mosh pits at christian shows and no one gets hurt on purpose, someone might fall on accident but thats about it.
