What I used to listen to: Power Metal (Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, Iced Earth, Helloween, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Dragonforce, etc.), NWOBHM (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest), Thrash (Metallica), Progressive Rock/Metal (Porcupine Tree, OSI, Dream Theater, Rush, Yes, etc.), Symphonic Metal (Therion, Symphony X, etc.), Classic Rock (Zeppelin, Floyd, etc.)

And my favorite metal genre: Melodic Death Metal (*Insomnium*, *Be'lakor*, *Kalmah*, Amon Amarth, In Flames, Mors Principium Est, Dark Tranquility, etc.)

What I listen to now: praise and worship. nothing too extreme. My goal is to use my knowledge of rock and metal to create realllly awesome praise and worship that would be acceptable to any Christian and would be able to be played in any church service. Kind of like taking the next step beyond what Hillsong United and bands like them have done.

The bands i love to listen to are For Today, In The Midst Of Lions, Demon Hunter, August Burns Red, and Sinners To Saints. I listen to whatever happens to strike me. The lyrics in music don't mean anything to me, I usually like the song because of the beat, the tune, and generally how fun it is for me to listen too. As a result my collection would probably have a few dissaprovable songs by many here, but really. If the lyrics were different, I would still like the song. Its about the music itself to me, not its meaning. I listen to plenty of cultural music in different languages, lots of instrumental music, videogame music, some autotuned stuff, even kids music. I've got some Christian music too, but very little sad to say. I love to praise the lord, but goodness. People who write Christian music really don't know how to write good music! I'm also sure God doesnt mind what music I listen too, so long as I am not being ungodly by doing it.
