Have you ever sinned and after you sinned you felt utterly convicted by the Holy Spirit? I mean you cannot possibly live unless you pray to God for forgiveness and you are truly sorry? That is how I feel after I lust after a guy. It's that feeling everytime and it's not just something I can ignore. I truly feel like I've defiled the temple of God and that's why I believe this is a sin. It may be difficult to understand but it is how my heart feels about it.

i am sorry for offending you, i recognize that i was wrong in associating you with some kind of a group of liars and i sincerely apologize friend :) however i care about you even tho i dont know you and i see that you are lost and spreading false information that goes against the good word. honestly i can see that tlite gets it and i am positive these thoughts he is having will pass because jesus will eliminate those thoughts as long as he prays with faith in his heart. however you i am worried about. my friend how can you say that what i said can be determind as an opinion, when all i said was that homosexuality is wrong no if ands or buts about it. just look in the bible. what i am stating is not an opinion, it is gods law that a man may not lay with a man as if they were a woman. end of story and i pray that god will take these evil thoughts out of your mind

I accept your apology and know you did not mean any harm :)

I believe that the verses that "condemn" homosexuality can be interpreted in different ways, although I am sure you disagree with that. I respect his beliefs and your beliefs and merely wanted to voice my opinion, as he was asking for such. You say my thoughts are evil, I believe your words do more harm than good because I think homosexuality is innate and cannot be changed. However, they are your words and not mine, so I feel it is unfair for me to say you are incorrect. All I ask is a mutual respect in our differing opinions.

What i meant was Jesus is not going to make you not attracted to men. He could help you with not acting on your homosexual feelings, but he won't just make them go away. And anyone can be a slave to their lust, whether its homosexuality or heterosexuality. but their is more to homosexuality then just lust; a man can fall in love with a man. But you are right, just because you have homosexual thoughts, doesn't mean you are gay, like what AmandaSpellings said.

please forgive me if i am coming off wrong, and i understand you are voicing your opinion. i just want to know where you got these thoughts from.; if there are different interpretations on this then would you please take a verse that states homosexuality is wrong and tell me what you think it means otherwise

justin, jesus can free you of any sin. homosexuality or homosexual thoughts are a sin in fact. when jesus rose from the grave he conquered all sin. my friend he can set you free

I don't know. Many people don't get what they ask for when they pray. I'm not an expert, but the people who are "cured" i think are just repressing their feelings, which is unhealthy. I don't think there are many, if any, actual cases where someone completely changes their sexuality. But again, i'm not an expert.

But I would seriously like to know where you base your opinion from. Do you really believe Jesus cannot/will not change me. What about Paul? Did Jesus truly change him or was he just repressing his hate for Christians?

justin, if you truly beleive jesus is your lord and savior, then you belive that the bible stands alone and it is the word of god. if you read the bible it wil tell you that this is a sin(which means it is a sickness, not something that you r born as) only jesus can heal sickness, and he can heal all sickness. homosexuality is no exception. when you say " i think it is something youre born with" then you are making asumptions when the truth is stated right in the bible for you. friend you are lost in this topic and your brothers and sisters love you. we want to see you know the truth. we all fall and stray off the straight and narrow path. that is when we rely on the body of christ to pull us back on track. this is all im trying to do for u my brother.

I'm sorry. I realized i just realized i'm wrong here. You were asking support for your decision in trying to change, not opinions on why what your doing is wrong. I'm sure you have enough to deal with, and not need my negativity. But i will answer your's and Godovermoney's questions. I'm not saying every aspect about you is unchangeable. As you probably seen in the people around you and in yourself, people get over hatred and grudges. A sexual orientation is different than an attitude. Its different because the sexual drive that you feel is a primary physiological drive that is up to par with with the drive to eat and sleep, but obviously, you don't need to fulfill to survive. Its not a conscious decision, like hating Christians is.

I thank you trying not to be negative and I'm sry but I'm not sure I can buy what you are saying. Can or cannot God completely change a person? Can he turn a harlot into a faithful wife? Can he turn a drug addict into a person no longer addicted? Can God do everything? The Bible says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." there isn't an asterik next to it saying there are exclusions from this promise. I'm going to hold fast to this promise because even though we don't get everything we pray for, God gives us what we need in His time. His will is that which matters not ours. I know he has the power to help and that He will. One verse that I came across is Hosea 3:1. I hold to that promise because I know God loves me and will build me up.

Homosexuality as an orientation isn't an addiction or an act. Its a sexual preference. People have gotten over addictions, because the need for drugs isn't a physiological need, until you actually become addicted. Every human has a physiological need to have sex (except there are a few known cases of asexuality). I guess what i'm trying to say is that asking god to change your sexual orientation would be similar to asking him to change something physical about you, such as praying to him to change you from a boy to a girl.

how is that? when being a boy or a girl is not a sin? being a homosexual is.jesus would not stick you with something that he calls a sin and he cannot heal that would be unfair and our lord is more then fair to us in every way

Again Justin I'm going to have to disagree. Sexual orientation is a choice. Ultimately we choose who we sleep with, whether it be man or woman. I cannot allow myself to believe we are still slaves to sin. did Jesus give his life for me so I could be a homosexual? Is that what I'm called to do as a Christian? Live my life lusting after men? Like I said before one should only lust after their spouse and their spouse must be of the opposite sex. Right? Or does God support homosexual marriage? The fact that I'm struggling with this is one thing, but I cannot do what you are saying to do and embrace it like it's God's plan for me. Do you really believe God made me just to struggle my entire life with this? Answer me these questions with an answer rooted in scripture and I'll believe what you have to say.

I think a good way to look at it is to think what if it was a sin to be attracted to a member of the opposite sex. Do you think you would be capable. Have you been in love before? How you you feel if someone told you that it was immoral for you to love that person. How is that fair? for some people, love comes naturally and they can be happy with the person they love, but for others they have to repress what they feel and could never feel that way because its immoral.

my friend you are rationalizing the word of god by human context. you speak of loving a man as if he were your significant other. well there is one problem with this. loving your significant other more then you love your neighbor is not right either. for example i have never even met you and i love you just as much as i love my significant other.

Again I disagree with you Justin. (I've been doing that a lot and I apologize) do you know what love is? God is love. Period. You cannot describe love any other way. You can try to say it's an affection for another person but it's not. Love comes from God. Right? I know it's rude to answer a question with a question but do you believe that God the source of love would have you sin? Would he put the love in your heart for a member of the same sex? Do you think God wants me to be gay? Honestly? Do you truly believe deep in your heart he has planned for me to live a life of homosexuality. Theres no other way to think about it. Did He? Do you believe these feelings of conviction I'm having are just made up from my imagination? I'm looking for encouragement from the body but all you've said so far is to embrace this lust because it's how I was made. I'm 16 here and rather impressionable. Are you really posting what you feel the Holy Spirit is leading you to say or what you have deduced on your own might.?

But how do you chose your significant other if you feel exactly the same about everyone?
