I told the full story of my friend who did something bad in my parents' house and how he could not come in for a long time, because my dad banned him from it. But eventually he was forgiven. But now I want to put it into your perspective.
How many of you have a friend that can come into your house like they live there, and go right to the refrigerator and get whatever he wants to eat. And can kick off his shoes and put his feet on your couches as if he lives there? I mean, a friend that is ALLOWED to do this? Well, I don't have any friends like that, and I never have.
A friend like this is pretty much a sibling. He has access to everything without asking. And for some things, he must ask, but he isn't prevented. FREE ACCESS!!
But my friend was banned from my house from doing something bad, but then he repented of it, and I forgave him, and as long as he was with me (a new condition, since his bad deed changed his relationship with my dad, and so now he can only have access by me) he can have that free access again. But if my dad were to see him alone, without me, he would be kicked out, and he might ask, ''where is my son, why are you not with him? Get out.''
In the beginning, man had this free access. But by sin, they were banned from the garden. Yet, by grace and mercy, we are allowed back in fellowship with God, through Jesus Christ. Jesus let me understand his gospel this way. I actually experienced it in my own life. And this is how I have learned the truth of his Word.
So. Now my friend is like a son again, as long has he is with me. But without me, he is a stranger. Now, if my friend chose to ignore the rules, and goes and does something again, for instance, curse my mother, I am sure that would be like a blasphemy, and he would NEVER be let back in, regardless of me. Then, he is only left to my dad, and I cannot intercede for him. Perhaps my dad will allow him, perhaps not, but knowing my dad, most likely not, but maybe.
This is the message of the gospel. The gospel is good news in so many ways. And I may make a 2nd post to talk about the ways. Jesus Christ is the gateway to the House of God. He is the mediator. He is the interceder. He is the go to guy. He is the door. He is the way!
Imagine now if my friend felt he had to come through the window? Certainly he doesn't have the keys to enter, and Jesus said that this is the same as a thief. I will post more.
May Jesus bless you.
