I read a thread discussing how they found it worldly and against God to want a education, or a career, to do well in life.

I'm not concerned about being wealthy, I'm only concerned about being taken care of well enough, and my career choice uses my artistic talents God gave me to make a living.

I don't know if what their thread was talking about had anything to do with that, but I am concerned. Is what I'm doing wrong?

If you need more information about my situation please ask.

Why did they find it worldly?

I don't think that wanting all those things is going against God. If you don't get an education how are you going to provide for yourself or your family if they need you? Way back women were only housewives and only learned the basics but things have changed a lot in our society. You may find a husband that can provide for you and you don't have to work and that's great. But, in the majority of the cases, both have to work in order to sustain their family.

Totally agree with Sarah.
I think there's nothing more to add.

Some of the threads and opinions go a bit overboard in their thinking. Here's the deal...

We need money...but we don't need to be rich.

We need a good education.... but we don't need to go to a school which will take the rest of our lives to pay off.

Pretty much summed up what I wanted to say. Basically, to boil it down even further, be content with what you have.

People who say things like that make me think of the old cliche... too heavenly minded to be of any earthly good.

Follow GOD and do His will.

Daniel had an education and schooling in Babylon. some people try to make God to be simplistic and legalistic full of rules of do and don'ts. God does NOT want this. He wants to have a personal relationship with YOU. pray and ask God what He wants you to do with your life and trust that HE can place in your heart the desires and wishes to fulfill His will and glory and still be at peace, joyful and loving to others and yourself. for that is the nature of God.
