whoa dudes! calm down. Dubbaz, yes that did do some clearing up thank you. And everyone else: Every single band that has been mentioned is well known. Starting this thread was to get unknown bands. Bands without labels, small labels, there own labels ect. Like for instance again ill go to We As Human, Junkyard Prophet, Await Your Calling, (btw now that were on all types of music lets just change it to any kind of genre, not just rock) A bullet For Pretty Boy (Kinda, their name is getting out there now) Forfeit Thee Untrue, bands like that, not known very well. And Christian please.

I love it when Italian''s spout opinion's.

They can't stand being wrong. I love it.

You're not the only one who can play this game of acting superior over the internet, I did nothing to provoke a response like that, I also happen to be a Multi-Instrumentalist and music is how I earn my living, so I would hope I would know more on the subject that most other's but then again I forgot, you seem to have all the answer's already.
Lol, listen kid slow your roll. I have worked for multiple production/label companies and have been in 12 bands, put out 3 albums, and 3 tours. Up til quite recently music was my primary source of income as well. I wasn't making fun or judging you or anyone. I was just noting, through all my years in music, that metal kids are super passionate about their music, and can't stand when people mis-label genres. If anything it was a compliment.

Stand down man. Not everyone is out to get you dude...

We As Human isn't exactly unknown either...they had one of the better rated rock songs of 2008 in "Fly", so they've been fairly well known among hard rock fans for at least 3 years. They may not be major label, but that alone doesn't make them unknown either.

I'd suggest for those looking to explore the genre, check out a site like Christianrock.net (with a sub site dedicated to "hard rock"). They use a very broad definition of rock, so I hope no one gets upset by hearing a certain band called "hard rock". Another site that I've found is blast.fm. Both sites play quite a few bands who aren't major label, so you can expose yourself to new guys.

Of course, the other way to do it is to hit up a major summer festival. I work Sonshine security every year, and I get exposed to a lot of new bands each year. One group that blew me away this year (I'd heard them before, but their performance this year was remarkable) was Sleeping Giants.

Yeah, Sleeping Giant is getting pretty well known, too, though.

To Dubbaz, a bit of friendly advice, i'd be cautious about posting those kinds of links on here. I agree with what you said, and though i know you were posting them to make a point, those links would probably qualify as reportable on this site, and may even be edited out by a mod. Possibly get a warning.

Oh, I know that Sleeping Giant is well known, but their show this summer blew me away. The had a rocking set, and at the end of it, they went into a montage of guitar-driven praise songs, ending with almost the entire crowd on their knees. They also had the security come up and pray with them before their show, and they wouldn't start until the security crew finished their prayer. The guys are absolutely genuine and real. I love that.
