So I checked out We As Human. I didn't like them. Didn't think you meant THAT kind of rock...that's like the one type of rock I can't stand. But if you like it, check out

Underoath
As I Lay Dying
Demon Hunter
Project 86

I agree with AAAPlus, We As Human is more of screamo than hard rock. If you're in that type you can also check out P.O.D and Seventh Day Slumber

A I Lay Dying is NOT death metal. not even close. They are metalcore. plain old metalcore. Thats an insult to death metal =P Head isn't really hard rock either. heavier than that.

Also AAA, Underoath or As I Lay Dying are 'not well known'?? Those bands are/were pretty big. Demon Hunter is pretty well known as well.

Now Haste the Day is what i call metalcore, If were going to label As I Lay Dying as anything other than death metal it would NOT be metalcore, thats an insult to As I Lay Dying lol, but ive heard of all of those except Forth Angel. ill look em up. want some deathcore? In The Midst of Lions and Impending Doom are awesome. its arguable though that Impending Doom can be death metal.

AugustBurnsRed are pretty popular at this time too, not exactly unheard of. And Living Sacrifice, pioneers of the Christian heavy music scene. I remember when their first CD was released, the self titled Slayer-ific CD. Always preferred their first three releases, thrash and death stuff. After that they took more of a metalcore edge. Still made some good stuff, though.

AILD are the epitome of metalcore. And Impending Doom? Death Metal? No. Deathcore, yes. Seems a common trend in modern scenesters to confuse genres and garble things together.

Saint Spirit, Saving Grace, Arcanjjo, Trino, Deus Invictus, Krig, Nephesh, Wintersoul, now those are some underrated bands.

I like skillet. "Savior". I would compare it to saliva, disturbed, linkin park. Red is good also "breathe into me".

Hello people, these are supposed to be 'UNKNOWN' bands, as in not already well known... Skillet, Red, Demon Hunter, Disciple .. you're just pushing the same old bands that have already gotten their name out and people are aware of. The idea here is to name bands that are not already popular so as to find to discover underground music.

Okay, just to clear up some musical issue's people are clearly having, especially the creator of this topic is having, You're mislabelling the genre's of pretty much every band you like, As I Lay Dying are in now way shape or form Death Metal, if you wish to see what death metal is then you should look up:
-At the Gates
-Dismember
-Aborted
-Carcass
-Fleshgod Apocalypse

You won't enjoy their lyrical styling's but that in it's true form is the musical structure and tonalities of 'Death Metal', When As I Lay Dying start using 2-2.5 step down tuning's and 3-5 Guitar track's on all of their song's I'll agree with you, other than that the only thing relating the two is Lambesis' vocal style, resemble's Tomas Linberg of At The Gates voice.

As I Lay Dying are labelled as Metalcore for the fact that their music is of the metalcore genre... Listen to song's like the sound of truth, the blast beat bridge's are the biggest characteristic.

Since I have to much spare time and I love music to much ill post some link's to save you some time.

Death Metal:

At The Gates - Blinded By Fear - YouTube
Dismember - Misanthropic - YouTube
Aborted - Surprise! You're Dead! - YouTube
Carcass - Heartwork (HD Audio) - YouTube
Fleshgod Apocalypse - Thru Our Scars - YouTube

Just so you don't have any more misunderstanding's about the difference between Death Metal and Metalcore.

Metalcore:
Killswitch Engage- My Obsession - YouTube
Bullet For My Valentine - Waking The Demon - YouTube
Blessthefall - Hey Baby, Here's That Song You Wanted Official Music Video - YouTube
trivium - pull harder on the strings of your martyr - lyrics - YouTube
All That Remains - Six (lyrics) - YouTube

I hope this will clear up any and all thing's surrounding Death Metal and it's characteristic's.

I love it when Italian''s spout opinion's.

They can't stand being wrong. I love it.

You're not the only one who can play this game of acting superior over the internet, I did nothing to provoke a response like that, I also happen to be a Multi-Instrumentalist and music is how I earn my living, so I would hope I would know more on the subject that most other's but then again I forgot, you seem to have all the answer's already.
