There isn't a way for you to keep what you have forever. One day it will all be gone and so will you. You only have an alloted time on earth so you better make it count and recognize that there is more to it than just having a good time and enjoying yourself in the pleasures of life. Pleasure will only last for a season. The only thing that will last forever is your soul and the choices you make now will determine where your soul will spend eternity. May God reveal himself to you as only He can.

Calmador: well, lets just say the only guidelines i agree with 100% is do not murder or rape...the other ones i either completely disagree with or feel can be ok if they are mild acts, for example, stealing expensive items is wrong imo, but stealing a few pieces of bubblegum is not...or telling a "small" lie is ok but not a big hurtful one...as for an example i completely disagree with: marriage, i dont think marriage is at all neccesary, if u love someone just stick with them, be faithful but no need to get married, thats just crap...(just my opinion) i dnt have anything against marriage, if u want to then fine, just dont think it shud be required, it shud be optional...or the "do not have idols", seriously? wats wrong with that? i mean its impossible for me to love god more than anything else so why shud i be required to? its just dumb...again, nothin against havin god as your idol, if u want to fine, but it shud be optional...those are just some examples...

Because frankly, the whole "cuz the bible says so" thing, just doesnt work for me...so mayb i will find some other reasons that are more convincing...i kno "faith" has alot to do with it but i'm hoping to run across something a bit more um, "real", than that...

Anyway, ive talked about this with some ppl in chat but thought id post it here for all to see so i cud get a greater variety of responses (hopefully) ... and i posted it in teens cuz im a teen but of course anyone can answer...

I know God cares for me because He has shown me... I've felt his presence and He has always given me what I need.. maybe not what I want... but what I need... and after that I guess I just have to go by fait...

Now...
How do I know my beliefs are correct?
Well... I believe the bible...
If you want facts then I can tell you this...
People can prove that the old testament was written before the new testament and prophecies from the old testament came true..
There are also other things in the bible...

You know how people used to think the earth sat on an animal or giant? Well the bible already said in Job 26:7 that the earth hangs on nothing... (He spreads out the northern [skies] over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.)

You know how we havn't always known about cells? Well Hebrews 11:3 talks about things like that... (By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.)

You know the second law of thermodynamics? Well Psalms 102:25-26 talks about that. (In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.)

The bible has been around for awhile... God knew these things though... and He told these people to write these things... and these are only a few reasons I blieve the bible.

Maybe He just got lonely... Maybe He wanted someone to show all his power too... I don't really know the answer to that one...

yea, thats just it, you dont kno his motives for creating the world and yet you trust him?

it doesnt make sense to me...

being lonely/wanting to sho off ur power does NOT justify all the suffering his creation has gone thru...im not sure what motive he cud have to justify creating us when he knew of the pain that wud befall us...

unless he did not kno but then he wudnt be all knowing...

something about this whole thing just seems so deceptive...

Its a good question, i had some thoughts about this as well

personal opinion:

God put as here first of all because He is God and He can do whatever he wants plain and simple, secondly this life is temporary man, Jesus is offering eternal life and God loves each one of us and you know what, he does not directly interfere with our lives unless we allow him too, and we are in the midst of a spiritual war. Recall that man fell from the garden for disobeying and listening to the serpent, God had just made everything and said obey my command and you live with all this paradise. He knew everything man from the beginning before all of us to the end after everything, and I dunno what he said or what he thought but hes God man you just can't argue with that, he knew what were going to suffer because of our disobeying but he still CARED, he had the most the faith out of all of anything, he had faith when we were in doubt and sin and he knew that there were going to be bad things but man he made Jesus to redeem us. Another thing, God punishes sin man, today and way back then, because as the creator of everything, he made the rules so we could all live well so, and when we disobey him, we essentially say i don't need you and bam leads to death.

I am not sure if anyone knows the answer to why God made it all, but hey just think about it, Hes God you really can't question why he can or cannot, or why he did this, you're talking about perfection 100% above everything, maybe you could pray about it, i have no answer and i dunno anyone else who may have it.

"perfect" is a matter of opinion, and in my opinion god is far from perfect...

but hey, mayb i cud make up my own perfect god...since thats basically what all religion is...
