Fear happens when you believe in a lie.
Satan uses fear to keep you in bondage of the lie.

Guilt happens when you believe in a lie.
Satan lies to you and says you gotta live in guilt for committing a sin, or even being tempted, when God says: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

Shame happens when you believe in a lie.
Satan lies to you and tells you to be ashamed; to keep everything secret... but without confessing your sins it's even harder to overcome.

and because of Satan's lies, we end up living in fear....

there are plenty of others lies..
for example:

"It's OK to be sexually promiscuous." for most people who are sexually promiscuous, you end up living in fear of STD's, and in turn, he (Satan) can make you feel guilty, and ashamed, which can stop you from getting help. See how Satan uses his lies to put you in fear, which in turn keeps you in bondage of the lie. It's a never-ending cycle; UNLESS; you find Jesus, and who Jesus sets free is FREE INDEED!

So what do you fear?

Examine yourself.. if we can pinpoint our fears we can pinpoint Satan's lies.

Me and my mom were having a conversation about this just last night.

I think you nailed it pretty well in your post. ^

What do I fear?
If I really knew exactly what I feared, I wouldn't fear it anymore...would I? ;)

and because of Satan's lies, we end up living in fear....
Amen! Always keep in mind that Satan builds things up on lies!
Think about it, what is our ultimate fear?
Death?
Pain?
Hell?
Unhappiness?

With Christ you don't need to worry about any of these things, because even if you live your life in pain 24/7 Christ is with you, and he will be there for you until the very end as long as you stand with him.

and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved - Matthew 10:22
Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name. - Acts 5:41
If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. - 1 Corinthians 15:19

We have so many advantages as believers, we just need to base our lives on the word of God, and do his will.

Luke 1:50
His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

Malachi 3:16
Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.

Luke 12:5
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

Acts 9:31
Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

1 Peter 1:17
Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

1 Peter 2:17
Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.

1 Peter 2:18
Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

Revelation 4:17
He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

EDIT:
Phillipians 2:12
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,

It's the greek word "Phobos".

definition:
fear, dread, terror
that which strikes terror
reverence for one's husband

Isaiah 66:2

2 Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?”
declares the LORD.
“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in spirit,
and who tremble at my word.

Fear happens when you believe a lie? What about if a gang member is chasing you with a knife? Fear can come from the truth, but I don't think it's helpful unlike what an evolutionist would say. One can be just as allert and full of adrenaline without fear.

That's a fear as in respect. Jimmydiggs all you do is go around trying to put down posts, I ask that you please stop.

That's a fear as in respect.
It says, "trembling".
EDIT:
Additionally, if it is "fear as in respect" which is a rather low view of it, but even so, that is still fear.

Which would be as you put it,
Fear happens when you believe in a lie, yes.
... believing a lie... :/

Jimmydiggs all you do is go around trying to put down posts,
Nope.

When you post something that is not true, what should I do? Praise and encourage the spreading of things that is not true?

Jimmydiggs. It's not wrong. I never saidnot to fear God, and you know what. Take your own adVice. Work out your OWN salvation. You're a calvinist... We obviously don't agree, so you don't have to sow discord by telling everyone else they're wrong.
