Is it okay to be scared of the second coming?
I mean I know you are supposed to be happy that Jesus is coming.
But, is it okay to be scared about the things that are going to happen when he comes?
Is it okay to be scared that you didn't live a well enough life for God and might get punished?

Ahh, i'm just so confused.

I remember when I was really young, around 7-8. I had a thought and thought for SURE that I was going to hell. I was freaking out man lol. But then I felt in my heart 'relax. Your young and have a lot of life to live.' It calmed me and I was able to stand back and see how silly the thought was, even though it felt very real to me. I just want you to hear that. RELAX! lol. The Lord says fear not! Have faith brother. Your young in Christ and have a lot of growing to do. And as you move from faith to faith you'll start to see the reality of the glory of what his coming means and you'll start to look forward to your wedding with Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The above is addressed to the "church of God" (meaning the born again ones); the judgement seat mentioned here is from the Greek "bema", meaning a sort of awards panel, as at the Olympic Games. This judgement is an awards judgement, not a punishment judgement.

Revelation 20:12-13
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

This judgement, referred to as the "White Throne Judgement", is for the unbelievers. This judgement will be according to works also, but the sentence will be punishment here, not reward. Romans 8:1a - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Christians have nothing to fear from this judgement, as it does not apply to us.

Don't worry brother, if you have confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead "thou shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9,10). No question about it; you're going to heaven and all hell can't stop you! It's awesome! I'll be praying for you, and may God bless you abundantly!

Fear and confusion are normal for people :) As you grow in the knowledge of Our Lord and Savior that fear and confusion will diminish. Take your fears to Him in prayer and ask for that peace that passes understanding.

We're supposed to always be ready for Christ's return. At the same time we don't need to always be thinking about it either ...to the point of becoming paranoid. Try to keep in a rational state of mind and still maintain a close relationship with God. He really isn't out to 'punish' people..His 'rules' are for our protection and also allows us free will. He loves you immensely :)

I disagree with you about verse 2 Corinthians 5:10. We deserve bad if we did bad. Accepting Jesus Christ means you make him your Lord. You wanna obey whatever he said. Yes, by confessing your sins, you'll be saved but if you still live your life as you were ( a sinner ) before than what gives you any right to receive his mercy? When you accept Jesus, your mind will be renewed, you will be given Holy Spirit according to His perfect timing. But sin is our nature. Everyone has sinned. It is good to fear God and repented. There's nothing wrong to cry out to God and remembering our sins and what the evil things we did. God loves it when His children humble themselves to him and ask for his help. There is no room for us to be comfortable. We are living in this evil world. If we don't always ask for His help, we will be defeated by Satan... It is important for all of us NOT TO TAKE JESUS CHRIST FOR GRANTED. Yes, he died for us not for us to feel better. But for us to work as well to let people know about His sacrifice. It's all about what we are willing to do for him. Yup He blesses us alot but dont get carried away with His blessings. WORK FOR HIM TOO! For example, just imagine you are a boss at your work place. People only are nice to you because of the bonus or expecting for blessings from you.. They are not nice to you just because they simply respect you... What do you feel? Being used for some reasons ? Think about it.. God bless you all. :)

sweet child of the Father, remember Jesus accepted your "punsihment" for sin on the cross, and according to God's word, you have been crucified with Christ!

" I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me"
Galatians 2:20

I urge you to immerse yourself in the Word of God. I believe it will give you help!

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
John 14:27

Fear and confusion ARE natural to us (bless you, Lucy!) but God's love and protection are bigger. I pray you will seek the Lord and find comfort, dear heart! <3 ~ellie
