I've actually only been writting songs for a few months, but people seem to really like the ones I've written here lately, (except they make my mum cry) mostly I think because at this point I use it to dig deep into my heart and write out my hurt and anger! And I honestly have alot of hurt and anger the past 7 years! But it has been more so the past 3 years that alot of it turned into anger! And I've studied alot of great song writters! But I was curious of who all else on here writes songs and what they use it to express! I'm trying to be able to write a song that would glorify God, but I still find that hard, because I guess sadly I do not feel it as strong and deeply as my anger and hurt! I have gotten over the stump in my life that kept me from believing for a long time! And I was able to write a song about that struggle, but anytime I try to write anything else having to do with God, I either get writters block or it does not sound good at all!!!

I know a lot of great Christian song writers will pray about lyrics...or they will write down how they feel and it can eventually be worded into a song. And sometimes, God will just drop the lyrics right into people's laps (that's how Leeland Mooring, lead singer of Leeland, came up with the song "I Wonder." He was outside praying, looking at the beautiful scenery of where they were, and God just basically dropped the lyrics into his lap...it's a beautiful song :))

Yeah, but You cannot sing a song unless it comes from your heart, and the song will not mean anything unless you do so! I guess it just may still be a while before I can really write about God from the heart!!!

Yeah, a lot of great songs come from your prayers. After all, a true song for God is like a prayer with a melody. Go to your prayers, journal(if you have one), and even just your thoughts. What you want to tell God, what you want to ask God, what you want to thank Him for. I've found that when I write down my thoughts about Him, they easily turn into song lyrics.

Yeah I have a Journal! And I have alot of songs in it!!!! All mostly of anger and hurt! My problem is at this point as much as I do know he cares about us, I do not have the deep feelings I should have for God! And when you write a song that is empty of what you are truely feeling, it will turn out to stink!!!!
