My name is Matthew. Recently i was on youtube just looking up random videos when I came accross a video that scared me to death. Its not important what the video was but that video caused me to pray for the first time in almost a year. But I feel so distant from god and I don't know where to go from hear. During the past year I have been the total opposite of what a christain is supposed to be. I feel that I am selfish, fake, and weak. I feel that I have gone too far down the wrong path to turn back. I just prayed again five minutes before writting this and what was on my mind was repenting. But I see to go through this cycle of leaving and returning to god. I feel ashamed and sacred.

Can anybody relate? I just don't know what to do now. My life for the past year has been centered around sinful behaviour and now I just feel like I am repeating the cycle all over again.

Please pray for me.

First of all Greetings! My name Is Jonathan,
It is wonderful to meet another Christian brother :)

I can relate to your situation friend, as of late I have had troubles struggling with a persistent sin thats had me trapped for so long D: Its gotten to the point where I feel unworthy of asking God for forgiveness, And I too have felt selfish through this sin. Your are not alone, I am sure there are many Christians out there struggling with the same situation. Just remember that God is a Merciful God, and he loves you just as much as anybody :). I will pray for you Matt, and may I ask you for a prayer? I could really use it. I feel like I'm not in too good a situation with God right now :'(

Matt don't yall worry, you are not alone here, i am sure most christians here can testify that they all had a bad past filled with sin before Jesus saved us, I can tell you for sure that i had a very sinful past that almost killed me, but you know that Jesus just grabbed me and said nope you are mine, and even though i was really stubborn and rebellious He refined me so hard and stuff that it was a complete turn around man i tell you the truth its never too late to repent and wash your robes because Jesus accepts anyone man who calls him and who repent and confess their sins, i wrote down a list last summer and prayed to him and at first i didn't feel anything but later He stepped in one of the most weird ways in my life and its been life-changing since.

Just try your hardest to do what Jesus says in the bible and pray for refining and trials and forgiveness daily and try to work on a small thing each day, its really gradual but trust me with Jesus surefire and his presence is peace man, all demons and junk just go poof and such and you come out really strong.

i dunno if this is you but try going at it really hard and work hard at just trying to please Jesus and stuff because i tell you the truth it works and you know don't be afraid to tell Jesus what you did in the day and you get to know Him more personally everyday and i dunno man just giver hard and God will reward you, tell him all your problems, embarassing or small issues and yeah you know builds an open relationship.

You can always run back to God, and the direction from hear is to choose to do and be around people and things that will help you maintain your relationship with God. Take time daily to talk to God, praising Him and reading the Word. Cast all your cares and troubles on Him, and acknowlegde Him in all you do. God bless

Thank you all who took the time to respond to my post. Like I said I prayed right before writing this and I didn't know if god was listening but your responses ensure me that he was. I will continue to work at my relationship with god.
Thank you all sooo much.

Repent and accept Salvation.

At this time you must seek Yahvah God in the name of Yahshua the Messiah.

Do not become the judge of yourself "gone too far down the wrong path" ... We all have been on the wrong path, just being on the path is wrong, do not consider you are any further than another down the path..

One sin = death... and one way to be reconciled and forgiven and cleansed, that is through Yahshua the Messiah, it is the blood of the Lamb that can redeem you in the eyes of Yahvah God.

Sin is a trespass of the 10 Commandments of Yahvah God.

20 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Call out in the name of Yahshua the Messiah son of Yahvah God to save you from your sins.

Die to the self and become free from your death sentence.

Grace is poured out for those that love and obey and a thirsty for righteousness.

Repent and accept Salvation.

Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Friend, we have all been in your state, stop trying by your own efforts and let the Holy spirit come upon you to be your guide and comfort.

May your heart be open to receive the truth, and your eyes see and your ears hear.

26When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 27Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

30Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 32For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

May God grant you what you seek :)

Don't think about it as 'repeating the same cycle again and again' but as a process of slowly eliminating sin. Pick one thing you want to change and work on that for awhile. When you've got that one reasonably under control work on another one.

Changing is usually more successful when you don't try to do everything at once. If you try to do too much you may feel overwhelmed and give up completely. Think of it has baby steps.

Keeping a journal helps.

And of course, reading and studying the Bible. When you love someone or want to get to know someone, you want to spend time with them. This shows God that you are serious about a relationship with Him.

Always pray for God's help....we can't overcome sin by ourselves.

Praying for the strength to overcome and for the Holy Spirit's guidance in your life :)

Run to You by Third Day - YouTube - a good song for everyone who feels that way...

"Long before I even thought of returning
Your arms are wide open, waiting for me to come home"

You know, I really understand how you feel. I have felt it before. And I was sooo lost... But I understood that all I have to say "God, I was lost, but now, I want to come home. You are that what I need"

Actually, the way you feel, it's much better than to think that "I'm close enough, I'm near God, I've never been lost..."
"I have never thought
That I was so far away from You
When I've been thinking
That I'm so near and close

God, thank you that now I see

When I was in the darkness
You came and were near
When I was weak and alone
You made strong as I needed to be
When I was dirty and hurted
You healed and cleaned
And made me holy"

It's good that now you see, where are you and what problem you have. Thank you, GOD!!!

Today morning, I was praying in my room and I understood that God want me to take away all these things that are not important. Everything what happened in my life, all ways I've been feeling, even all my sins that before I was thinking being most important.. I mean to take away EVERYTHING and just look straight to Him.. To God.. It's so simple.. And easy :)

Good news, brother, YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND YOU WILL NEVER BE. YOUR FATHER ALREADY IS WAITING FOR YOU... RUN, BROTHER, RUN!!!

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!

:D

God bless everybody!
Hugs :)
