I personally believe this testimony, but it isn't bad to ask God again about it by yourself... Actually, if you're in doubt about spiritual things, it's always the best to ask God by yourself...
The testimony isn't all about Pokemon. It's a long article, and the charactors're only a small part of it... It may be easier for you if I extract relative sentences...
Any-way, you can always pray for an answer from God Himself...

personally I believe and I know this is true, recalling a lot of TV i used to watch it had kids being hyper and doing whatever they wanted or rebelling against their parents and complaining.

I haven't watched t.v in over 6 years. One movie that had the Holy Spirit making me feel a huge strong urge to get up and get out of that room when my friend put on that Charlie Mansion movie. I simply could NOT watch that movie. So yeah giving that experience I think the devil will use anything he can to do evil including well any opportunity presented to him. He is the devil. as in the big bad evil. So yeah, I agree that he can use t.v. to do his dirty work.
Dangerous and evil. I'm happy to see the first few commenters agree, usually these topics get flamed with "hating fundamentalist propaganda!! It's just a toy/TCG/movie!!" shortly after posting.

This article sums it up well on this Pokemon craze, when I was in the chruch system, and in childrens ministry there, the young children would bring these vile cards with them and loved them, it was accepted as just harmless fun at this very liberal, worldly church, and most were dead to God, and alive to the world and sin!

Another false promise that the game of Pokemon teaches is that you can become your own "master". Did you know that all other religions around the world (except for Christianity), were brought into existence by Satan? Most all of these religions teach that you can become a god (master).. Remember the first big lie that Satan told in the Garden of Eden? The lie "ye shall be as gods". The Bible tells us, no one can become a "god" or a "master". This is a false promise. Satan, Adam and Eve all suffered terrible consequences for believing this lie and disobeying God.
The New Age Movement theme can be detected once again throughout Pokemon. It is good to use your mind, but your mind should concentrate on good things, not evil things [SIZE=-1](see Philippians 4:8-9).[/SIZE] When children play this game, many begin to get mixed-up between what is real and what is make-believe. The game becomes reality to them and pulls them into the story like they were really there. This is what the game was meant to do. It is dangerous, because your mind is busy focusing on things that God hates, rather than on things God loves.
Many children believe they have power at their fingertips, the power to give commands. This is magic and it is a very destructive power that will lead only into Satan's trap.
Did you know that those who call themselves "Wizards of the Coast" created the Pokemon game? These wizards are calling themselves something that God has forbidden. Let me make it clear that God loves the person, but hates the practice of a wizard. These "Wizards of the Coast" are also the creators of "Dungeon's and Dragon's"and "Magic:The Gathering". These games also have many occult forbidden practices in them, that need to be avoided.Overall, Pokemon is teaching you how to practice witchcraft and sorcery. It is teaching you to put your trust in Satan's occult forces which are in reality "demonic spirits". Satan wants to attract you to these things by making them fun for you to play or watch on TV, while in a sneaky way, he draws you away from the true God who loves you.Just remember, these things are not pleasing to a God that truly loves you! I pray that all of you who are addicted to Pokemon will decide that your Pokemon game just is not worth it!
Nothing is worth getting between you and God. If you are already a Christian, you must ask God's forgiveness from being involved in these forbidden practices. Christians must separate themselves from these things. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 very clearly to; "Abstain from all appearance of evil".
You see, God did not put verses in the Bible to disallow us from doing fun things, but to protect us from evil.

Pokemon promotes something worse than witchcraft, it teaches greed (got to catch them all!) But seriously, it's a kids' show based on merchandising - cards, games etc. It brings the worst out in some kids, but they already had problems. Also, isn't this thread about 10+ years late? The creatures are imaginative but the stories are lame. Try Digimon for a better quality alternative - better animation, characters, stories, creatures.

Ok. I believe magic is a bad thing. It's not only real but seriously evil and tempting for many who know this. It's also powerful. But I thought pokemon was about friendship and never giving up. Things like that. Fantasy's aren't always bad. The little mermaid was turned into a human by the which octopus thing. Witches and magic. Evil. She was the bad guy. Still. The little mermaid was about love and following your dreams. Was superman bad? Didn't it teach you about justice and being a good samaritan? Were you able to learn magic from any of these shows? Now that you know that it is real do you love and want to learn magic? Chances are you'd answer no to all of these questions. The bible says not to be ignorant of the devil and his ways. So teaching your kids to avoid having any knowledge on things that are dangerous and evil is like saying, hey devil, here's a nice naive little boy or girl for you to educate because I have failed to. Have you told your kids about santa? Is it harmful? Do you think they are gonna try to learn to fly around the world in one night or go down a chimney using magic? Then by all means get paranoid. But if you teach them the true meaning of Christmas santa is just like that fairy tale book you read them at night.
