I used to have the same doubt, although I could easily see why homosexuality was wrong. God made women from and for man because she was man's missing link. Therefore homosexuality is against the nature of what God invisioned, if the reproductive organs and private areas weren't proof enough. But so much has happened before, during, and after I turned to God that all pointed to Jesus. Even after his love entered my life I fell into doubt, but eventually reflected back on all the signs and couldn't believe how he was there every step of the way and I was loving his presense in my life and using it to help others. This happened even when I was skeptical about his divinity.
Also I'm a deep thinker and do my research. Jesus is a real person. There are several historical text aside from the bible that attest to that. If you don't believe that, then tell me how a fictional character can possibly have the greatest impact on mankind than any other historical figure who's ever lived? The answer? It can't happen. So the question isn't if he's real, but whether he's God. So think. If Jesus wasn't God why would he die on the cross like it was his duty? Don't believe in the gospel. Know that even nonbelievers wrote historical text that attest to his existence, claim to be God, death on the cross, and resurrection on the third day. Aside from that there are the millions of testimonies, including my own that would never be possible without Jesus. He truly is the only way.
