Religion is a list of do's and dont's
relationship with Christ is me trying to please Christ because I desire to
Religion my lead down the wide and broad way
Relationship with Christ always leads to the straight and narrow way
Religion leaves people frustrated
relationship with Christ leaves people fulfilled
Religion may have many founders
Relationship with Christ has one founder, JESUS CHRIST.

Do the two have to be mutual exclusive? Religion comes from the Latin religio, which means "to bind together." Is not a relationship a binding together of two people?

I agree with you, but this is the fault of the people, not the religions or what they teach.

And as I said, there does not have to be any opposition between religion that worships Christ in spirit and in truth and a relationship with the Risen Christ.

I agree with you. There is way too much legalism when people say that Christianity is a "religion." People need to understand that religion is not a philosphy but a lifestyle. God bless and thanks for posting this.
