I don't know what you're going through, but I recommend you read the book of Romans all the way through. If there's anything specific you want help with, I'd love to help. -JIM

  • Read the Bible. Aim to read it daily. Start with Genesis or Matthew - either one's good. I personally try to read 2 chapters day, but whatever works best for you. Perhaps it's 15 minutes a day, a half hour, or some other system.
  • Daily prayer. Praying not only builds a connection between you and God, I believe that over time it aligns you with what he wants you to do.
  • Church. I'm old-fashioned and believe church is an integral part of being Christian. The church is the means through which God reveals himself to the world. Get involved in a church that preaches the Gospel without alteration.
  • Repentance. That's a word that means turning away from sin. Do you do something that you know is sinful? Turn away from it! In doing so you'll honor God and walk in greater holiness.
  • Tell others. Don't be afraid to demonstrate or talk about your faith. This can be hard in me IRL because I've faced hostility before, but people aren't going to know about Christianity if we keep quiet about it. You don't have to scream about Christianity through a microphone. But when the opportunity to talk about your faith arises, go for it.
  • Learn about your faith. Ask questions about what you believe. I find that a good foundation of knowledge is an excellent way of building and maintaining one's faith and, indeed, drawing oneself closer to God.
