Truly is it wrong to love
This is how I've looked at it.

Mind you, I may be wrong.

BEING
and DOING are two completely different things, no?

God loves the SINNER but hates the SIN, right?

So do you see where I am going with this?

The ACT of HOMOSEXUALITY, is wrong.

When you're asking if it's wrong to love, no, it's not BUT the Lord plainly states the act of laying with the same sex is wrong.

The reason why I say BEING and DOING are two completely different things is because people who don't agree with this or people who obviously have not read the bible always like to say, "oh, in the bible it says that being a homosexual is an abomination. So basically that means God hates homos."

No. Look here:

Leviticus 18:22 (NIV)

"Do no practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."

Leviticus 20:13 (NIV)

"If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."

Now, what that being said, when someone says, "oh, in the bible it says that being a homosexual is an abomination. So basically that means God hates homos," or when there are Christians out there disowning their children and what not or are telling people that God hates them because they ARE homosexual, obviously, parts of the bible would then contradict themselves, no?

For example:

Mark 12:31

"The second is equally important. 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these."

God said everything as he said them for a reason. There were no mistakes. He mean't what he mean't. It's just the way that we interpret it that can get us in trouble.

Again, God loves the SINNER but hates the SIN.

So, yes, the act of homosexuality is wrong, but if you are homosexual, God still loves you.

All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and discontinue the act of homosexuality.

I hope that makes sense....

If I am wrong however or if someone finds something in what I said to be flawed, by all means, please correct me.

Why do you see the act as being wrong i think its a personal choice and why does a book seem to have the answer this why people ask this should a book just say its bad and go on with life but why should it matter if we have sex with a man thats y we should always
Live the life you love and love the life you live
This topic tends to be brought up a lot and most often not by Christians. Is Homosexuality wrong? What does God say about it?
Romans 1:18-32But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.... Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God's justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (NLT)

"Live the life you love and love the life you live." You say....

Living the life you love may not always be good for you.

God knows what is right and what is wrong.

The fact that you yourself must ask if homosexuality is wrong just goes to show that some part of you believes that it's wrong.

When you know that what you're doing is good, there is no questioning it.

But if you feel like what you are doing isn't right, but you want to be told otherwise, that's when you start looking for answers that are pleasing to your ears.

It is said that we live hell on earth, God forbid, living the life you love may lead you to live hell twice.

Yes, it is personal choice but remember, whether it be good or bad, each choice has it's own consequence.

No. It doesn`t make sense. The distinction between Being and Doing is very dangerous. Is like saying that you can still remain homosexual, but refrain youself from sleeping with men, because God doesn`t like it. You seem to say that the simple attraction is not sinful, is the act that is sinful. In that logic, even a pedophile`s attraction can be excused as long as he abstains himself in "acting". This is like a sort of squizophrenia (where one is divided between desire, on one hand, and act, on the other hand).

Jesus Christ invites us to live the real life, not a squizophrenical one. He said that if one man thinks lustful about a woman, than that man already commited adultery. It is true that at the beginning refraining from sinning is very hard, but in time, with the help of Jesus Christ, we manage to become what we are ment to become. But this abstinence, if it`s not done with the help of Jesus Christ, will become in time very dangerous - the perverted and refulated libido will aliment itself from the interdictions that we impose to ourselves.

I`m trying to say that we must be renewed with all our being, not only on a superficial level.

Oh no, I'm not saying that the simple attraction isn't sinful.

You're right when you say that even the very thought of the sin is exactly the same as have already committing the sin.

I guess I need to change my way of thinking in terms of that.

Thanks for clearing things up.

I don't struggle with homosexuality but I feel for those who do. That said, I think the Author of our lives, the One who is Love (God as revealed in the Bible) knows a little more about love than you and I. God defines love because he is Love. But God is also Absolute Truth. Homosexuality was never part of God's plan, it's a result of the Fall into sin from the time Adam and Eve rejected God and said, "we're going to play by our rules now!" From then on, humans created their own definition of truth, love etc.

God is love, God is love....im so tired of it...Hes also holy. Hes also just. Hes also a consuming fire. Hes also immutable and doesn't change just cause some decides Hes suddenly wrong about how he set up the natural order. Homosexuality is wrong according to nature and God. Period. Keep on trying to justify it..you wont get any nods from me.

Did you bother reading people's posts? I don't think so. God created everything, including the law to live by. Therefore, what he says goes. His love is true love, what he says is truth is truth. He's both Truth and Love, so he has the right to make the rules. He is holy, we aren't. He hates evil, we tend to love it. Because we're lost in our sin, we need one to save us from that hellish existence. And that one is Christ Jesus. As his creations, we have no say in the matter as to what is right or wrong.

Well, that much is obvious. I couldn't make it any more plain for you. I suspect you're just going to keep on doing your own thing.

You are right to be mad and you should and are allowed to question God on this. I think you should wrestle with God on this...and by wrestle I mean pray. Wail and scream and ask Him to show you what He thinks as you read His word. Read Matthew 16:24. Why else are you here on this site? Do you want to love God and impact others in the way God's shown through Jesus? Don't just mouth off and run. It seems to me that nothing is more important to you than being a man....so ask God to show you how to do that. You may find out that it's really Him you're attracted to more than anyone else.
