Most people are their current religion because of their parents, whether that be muslim, hindu, jewish, or Christian.

a relgion that condemns all other religions and sentences them to eternal damnation in the afterlife is not love. that's sick. you could have easily been born into a family who was Buddhist or deist or some other religion. think outside the box. we all come from the same place. were going to the same place from here. its narrow minded to think of an imaginary land with streets of gold and hell. that's ridiculous. anyways...

how did it keep you "in" path? the path was created for you by your parents to set you on "their" path. not continue yours. that doesn't make sense. so they did influence you 100% to become one

As I guessed my response to you is somewhat misplaced, but I'll leave it as is, don't take it personally. I agree that it's important not to get so caught up into the intellectualism of it all that we neglect the spiritual aspects. A balance is good, but I think certain people need more intellectualism by nature than others, and certain people need more spiritualism than others, but everyone should have both.
Yes we need to be intellectual,I agree. But only thing is it should be Godly.Every time i try to talk to someone about where they go wrong,it pricks me inside my heart to pray to God to keep me in control from becoming self proud.
I thank you for correcting me here.Yes,you are right.A balance is needed for everyone.I was seeking an answer in that for a long time.
Thanks a lot.God Bless:)

It might not be the right tactic but:
You could always return the claim, as a question "Are you raised atheist?"

This is something that's told to me quite a bit, and it's getting harder and harder to ignore it. How do I reply to this? Why is this clinging to my mind? Am I a Christian only because I was raised in the right part of the world. Granted, my parents views on God and mine are hot and cold, but we still believe in The Bible. What do you guys respond with when this is thrown up? Should I let this bother me..? I'm confused, and I'm seeking answers. I'm confident in what I know. I'm not doubting, but then again.. Am I doubting if this bothers me?
We should obey the truth after we have understood the truth! Becoming a Baptist, because mom and dad are baptist, will make us a baptist. Becoming a Catholic because mom and dad are Catholic, will make us a Catholic and etc. Obeying that form of doctrine, will make us a Christian, Christ like.
