An old friend of mine (let's call him Chris) from TN just called me last night. His dad was just killed in Afghanistan while fighting for our country. He's (Chris) having a really hard time dealing with his pain and confided in me that he was contemplating suicide. Luckily I was able to talk to him and stop him from doing anything stupid. But, he's really hurting and just needs some prayer. I'm honestly considering flying to TN to be with him. I'm all he has because I'm the only person he's talking to right now. pleas just pray for him.

Oh my, that is terrible, I am really sorry. I will pray for him. If there is anything I can do to try and help just let me know, but he will still be in my prayers. Stay strong.

May I ask what branch of military he (Chris' dad) served in?

Praying for you both! Do you think you should contact his family? Family members can be very supportive in a crisis...especially when a member of the family feels isolated with their pain.

I have and his sister Emily called me the same night begging me to come. His mom emailed me too, begging me to come ASAP. Sooo, I'm leaving late tonight and will stay w/ he and his family the rest of the week and all of next week.
