I strive now to be as close as I can with God, but as I was finding myself through church, I realized I was losing my boyfriend. We've been together for almost 2 years, and I asked him to come to one church service with me for my birthday and he said he didn't want to wake up early to listen to a boring service. Am I asking too much???

Well if he's a Christian, no. If he's not, then what do you expect?
If he is a Christian, then this is a sign of the type of 'Christian' he is..
And if he's not a Christian then why are you even dating him?

No matter what the answer, though, don't approach this as something he 'should' be open to. Don't view it as how can you change him and make him see things right, but rather realize this is the person he is. Then ask yourself, if you're striving to get closer to God, is this the kind of person you need to be dating?

No you are not. Plain and simple. But you've gotta honestly answer this question for yourself: Is your bf pulling you away from God?

I learned from my experience that God should be the center of a relationship. GOD, you, your bf. In other words, God must have a place in your hearts. I will pray for you.

You are not asking to much. I get the feeling he is not a christian, so I suggest that be Christlike and a good witness to him and pray that he comes around.

Hey
I guess it depends what kind a church.

Is he even a Christian? does he pray? read the bible? care about strangers?
I would distance myself from anyone that despises the word and god.
Maybe, try distancing yourself a little. I don't know.
If you, don't consider marrying him in the near future, maybe you should focus on other things.
I must confess, I only go to church once every 2 months or so, but if you have a nice Christian family, that's just as good as any church.
Hope I could help
