For anyone to get born again it must be the work of God directly. It is the miracle of God. NOW, if you want to be a "co labor" with God in the miracle of the new birth, you need to read the Bible to learn how to evangelize the lost. But only God can give the new nature to a sinner. All anyone can do is be a witness. There's nothing we can do in and of ourselves to make anyone get saved. Having a knowledge of a belief system and how to refute it may help, but doesn't mean it will guarantee anything. Best thing to do is live right, know what you believe and why, be ready to share it and pray for them.
