I feel it's time that I start to actively look for one. Haven't done a good job so far with that

Then you should seek God about it first. Don't let your feelings dictate your actions, feelings get you in trouble. God will guide you if its time.

Do you have your own household?
Are ye financially dependent from your parents?
Haveth thou enough income to maintain a relationship? (in the future possibly a family).
If so, then yes, ye may go hunt a bride.(Preferably one that can answer yes to all the questions above, and is a Christian)

Start in church. Be friends first, don't just jump into a relationship. Be patient.
