No problem, it is my pleasure. If you need any further advice feel free to ask. I'm well aware my methods may sound odd. They are not common in mainstream Christianity, but they are effective and fulfilling.

I look forward to talking with you more. :)

Thank you so much. :) Has my faith been dwindling because I'm trying too learn as much as I can too fast? Someone told me that Christianity takes time and I have been rushing through all the new things I have am learning. Is that why my faith was so strong before I started learning more about Christianity because I wasn't working myself up with these OCD thoughts etc.? Will my faith grow bigger and stronger if I take things slower?
Edit: I have also been forcing myself to believe certain things because I want to believe it as fast as I can to become closer to God and I don't think forcing myself to believe something is the smart thing to do. Should I read the Truth of The Bible and wait for me to gradually believe fully?

I'm not an expert. If you have to force it though, that can never be a good thing. Take it slow. Really reflect on the splendor of God through faith, wisdom and the word (Logos).

My path is not your path. The way I attempt to reconnect with the fullness of God is research. Piles of varying books and what not. If you feel compelled to read the Bible, do so. I like the Gospel of John personally. Read all you can and wisdom (Sophia) will assist you in embracing the light. Making the Sacred Flame of your spirit burn bright.

Just make sure you avoid the demiurge, false realities of this world, and find solace in the works of the true and universal godhead that is God, the Father Almighty; the Son, the Logos and the Holy Spirit, Sophia.

I think your problem is you don't have a solid foundation. Your foundation begins in the book of Romans which tells you how secure you are when you have saving faith and how Christ did it all for you. You are justified unto eternal life, you are imputed with His righteousness, and Jesus provides for your sanctification by making you dead to sin. You just have to be fully persuaded and His Word will effectually work in you. Saving faith is being fully persuaded that He is who He says he is and He has done what He says He has done and He will do what He said He will do. Believe that Jesus is your savior who bore the penalty of your sins and died, was buried and resurrected. The moment that happened you received eternal life, the blessed hope of being saved from His wrath, and through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection you were sanctified. God doesn't take it back either for it is a free gift. If you could do anything to make Him change his mind then salvation was never a free gift and it was never by grace.

Also, Jesus made you dead to sin when you believed in Him. That means not that you are dead or sin is dead but that your relationship to sin which had dominion over you is dead. Sin will try to convince you that you are still enslaved but you are free now to live unto God. Don't put yourself under the law. For the law was given that sin may abound. Put yourself under His grace and live unto Him. You might be putting yourself under the law which is why you are feeling these ups and downs. Read Romans everyday until it's solid for you. It has helped me a lot to understand why it is called the gospel of grace and peace for it does give you peace because the power of God's grace is what saves. We just have to believe Him. :)

May I ask you what you mean and when said to not be under the law and that I'm putting myself there?

The past couple of days my faith has been like a roller coaster,
I would have a lot of faith a few times during the day but not for a long time
and every morning when I wake up it seems like my faith has just ran away.
And I keep having OCD thoughts and blasphemous thoughts that I don't want at all
and I repent of them but still my faith is still pretty low.
And I keep having a hard time KEEPING my faith in Jesus and don't know why.
I don't think I'm rejecting Jesus and I don't want to but I don't know why my faith keeps dwindling though.
I don't want to harden my heart against God because I love God
but I don't know why I can't keep my faith when I have it and why I feel so far from God.
I don't like feeling far from God and I DISLIKE IT SO MUCH when I my faith in Jesus is so low.
I'm afraid that I am unknowingly hardening my heart by accident.
Is there a reason why my faith keeps dropping and why I feel so far from God?
How come these OCD thoughts can convince me so easily about lies
but I can't convince myself of the absolute truth? :(
Dear Danielle,

PRAISE GOD!

For He is working in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
You are His workmanship!
The very fact that you are experiencing this conflict is the one sure evidence of your salvation, that Satan cannot replicate.
You are in God's hands, just stop looking inward.
For you will only see your failure there.
The old nature cannot be improved, it cannot please God.
The new nature you received on believing is from above and is perfect.
These two co-exist within you.
The one has been condemned and will die.
The other is of God and is eternal.
The way to overcome is to starve the one and feed the other.
The food of the Spirit is the Word of God, so get plenty of it.
The desires of the old nature are sensuous and fleshly and are activated and enlivened by stimulus designed for that purpose, whether base or refined: it needs little imagination to know what those things are.
The flesh, the world and the devil are the enemy of the spirit.
Remember Eve who was influenced by
the lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life.

Read the Word, and concentrate upon the things of God, in Christ Jesus, and rejoice that you are a Child of God, Danielle. Don't struggle or strain against thoughts or feelings, which are deceitful. Reckon on the completeness of the finished work of Christ, and Praise God for His grace.

Your faith, whether small or great is not the issue, for it is the Faith of Christ that we trust in and that will never fail. He is not only the 'Author' of your faith, He is also the 'Finisher' of it. The work God has begun in you, in Christ Jesus, He will continue to do until the day of Christ.

So be strong and of a good courage, Danielle. We have all been there.

With love in Christ Jesus
Chris

Thank you for that response, but why does my faith dwindle? Every morning it feels like my faith is gone and all I'm trying to make it grow but its hard. When I read the Bible, especially ones about Jesus, my faith either doesn't grow at all or I have to force my faith to grow which is mentally hard and stressing.
[h=3]Mark 9:24[/h]24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Life is a continuous struggle between belief and unbelief.
You are being honest with yourself and with God and this is the best basis of a relation with God: being honest!
Stay true to God and come to Him just as you are (not as you think you are supposed to be). Although you do not realize this right now, you are actually on the good path. You are protected from phariseeism, which is far more dangerous than lack of faith!

Hi thank you for the answers. How do I praise God? Do I pray Our Father or thank Him for all He has giving me?

Just give thanks in your heart to the Lord, Danielle. Don't look for feelings to accompany it, just give thanks in all things. Feelings, experiences, are not to be trusted. Our foundation is sure and steadfast, in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. His Word to us is also sure and trustworthy, praise Him as you read all that God has accomplished for you in Christ Jesus. Just praise, even when your heart is heavy, or your thoughts are playing you false, just thank God that His promises are true, and that He is faithful.

Expect nothing from your flesh, but everything from your Saviour.

In Christ Jesus.
Chris

Thank you I will. :) Is my heart really hardened though even though I don't welcome these horrible thoughts and I WANT my faith to grow?
No danielle1234. I Don't think its your heart is hardening. Perhaps its your thirst for knowledge and wisdom from God. The more you read your bible, the more knowledge you will get. and the more knowledge you get, it will override all your bad thoughts.

You will only grow by what you read in the bible. the less you read, the less you grow in knowledge. You heart is not hardening, But I think its your past life events, and lack of knowledge, is masking your heart for God.

Speak to God, spend time with him, go for a walk, and talk to God in prayer. by the time you get back, I can assure you, that you will feel differently. God is there with you. and has his hands upon you, and don't give chance for the enemy to play any part to spoil your moment and time with God. because he will try alsorts to interupt you, and cause diversions. But be strong, and just pray and talk to God reglardless what the enemy may try to do. God bless. God is a good listener. just remember that.

I do not agree. If Catholics are false Christians than who are the true ones. A Christian is one who mirrors Jesus and their actions reflect that. Sadly, I have met few Christians.

you know what danielle i also experience dryness when i was a new believer,
i feel that God is so far and also i really dont like the feeling,

but faith is not just about feeling, it is based upon the truth, the Word of God!

whenever you feel that, have fellowship with your friend believers,
i hope you can find a small group who you can have fellowsip with aside from Sunday
it will really help you grow,
tell your Christian friends to pray for you

also when you wake up, eventhough you dont feel like praying,

just talk to God and tell Him your concerns...
also read the bible as much as possible day and night

i have discovered, based on my experience that whenever i dont spend time praying, that's the times i think im spiritually dry.

so continue to spend time with the Lord and always remember that faith is not based on feelings.

God loves you remember?
why could He forsake you?

when satan feels threatened cause we have now faith in Jesus, he often attacks us.. but remember
if God is with you, who can be againt you?

Romas 8:37-39
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

May the Lord bless you! :)

Danielle, God wants a relationship with you. He has made this possible through Jesus. Don't think in terms of Catholic or Evangelical or Protestant. It is an adoption, into His family. The Holy Spirit will teach you if you let him. Don't try to fit everything into what you have learned in Mass because I'm sure some is false and will misguide you. Read your Bible and remember it's not how fast you read it, it's how well you understand it. I think what Blase-and-Blithe told you was "off center". You do need to "pray in the Spirit". The Bible doesn't go into an explanation of this but I find it is a meditative state that is reached when the body and mind almost vibrate "hum". It is a feeling of tranquility. I believe it is during this phase that God transforms the mind making it more attuned to Him. The secret to understanding and trusting God is to invision Him as a loving Father, but never losing sight that He is the Creator, and mightiest power in the the universe, so always be reverent. As far as believing in Jesus, there is no way to the Father except through the Son. It is a commitment (faith) in Jesus, along with our repentance that leads to righteousness. By accepting Him as your blood Sacrifice (a requirement for the forgiveness of sins by the Law) we are washed of our guilt and sin. Then the bondage of sin in this life is severed. People say that everybody sins because we are sinful, but someone who has accepted Jesus and received the Holy Spirit is a New Creation and it becomes their choice to sin or not. Choose not! Let go of the cares of this world and follow Jesus, then I'm sure you will no longer be compelled to obsess. Be free in Christ, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
