What are examples of works and examples of the opposite if works. Can someone be saved by works?

Only if works died on a cross... but it didn't.

No one can be saved by their works. Doesn't matter how nice you were or how giving, in the end you will have to stand before God like everyone else. Even the corrupt can be nice, but that doesn't justify anything. If we could be saved by works, Jesus would have no need to die for us.

Works, by my understanding, basically means actions. Like: Helping the poor, feeding the hungry, taking care of the sick, etc...basically anything that could justify someone as a good and kind person.

Is repentance being saved by works? Because YOU'RE doing the repenting.

"Not of works, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2.9).

James says that works prove that faith is genuine, but they don't produce salvation.

We are saved by grace through faith. You cant earn your salvation. Works is an expression of our faith and love for jesus. Like a previous comment said helping the needy or feeding the poor etc. If youre living your faith and serving the lord you will do works because you love jesus. We all serve the lord in different ways. With our talents and using what gifts we are blessed with. Im on volunteer fire dept. I conduct myself in a way that glorifys god while on duty without worrying about credit for myself. It is a love that god has given me so i use that love for the fire dept to help people in need and help the community. If i see a person broke down on side of road i stop and help. I carve stuff in wood also so ill do freebies for awards for people. The two greatest commandments jesus said is love the lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. Life is not about ourselves its what we do for god and other people. Walk in love and serve god and others and works will be there. It kind of goes with bearing good fruit. The opposite of works would be this. God works through us not because he needs us but because he loves us. Say someone at school was mean and teasing you all the time. Then they were going to fail the grade if they didnt pass this assignment. They ask you for help studying. You fail to act in love and forgiveness and refuse to help. That would be an opportunity to show the love of god that was missed. Hope it helps you.
