sorry i didn't even answer your question on how to get over it. You get over it by not worrying about what people think about you. :)

There's nothing you can do, what your dealing with is a stage of life and all you can do is accept it and try as hard as you can to see the good in it and put up with the unwanted attention, it's easy to say 'get over it' but in reality that statement means absolutely nothing, it's just what gets said when nothing useful comes to mind.

Most of us, if not all can relate to having our parents do things we wish they wouldn't and it doesn't go away, but eventually you will get to a point where things level off and you will start to see it as less of an issue and eventually it might not bother you at all, the only solution is the passage of time, things that bothered me once either don't bother me now or I have learned to accept them as things I can't change and so I can deal with it better.

Try to remember things like this are a two-way street, little things about you probably bother others, it's one of the hard parts of being in a family but hopefully it's worth putting up with for the good things they bring.

at the end of the dayl, he is the father, God has blessed you with him...and at the end of the day...if you love him, you wont care what he wears

when my dad dresses horrible i dont giive a toss, i love him, i know he doesnt mean any harm - at all!

and i know i dont dress the best sometimes, when im in the house.

who cares what other people think! I know i have God with me..and i know that it was God that gave me my dad.

and trust me, i would rather be walking down the street with my dad, who dresses horribly, that not have a dad at all...

.. :D ..

Hide the hat
under a mat
and blame it on the cat.
Say the cat
ate the hat
and suggest that's why it is so fat.
If you have no cat
that is fat
blame it on a rat
or a bat
but don't blame a gnat
for that would be absurd.

Failing that
have a chat
and explain to your father he looks a prat.

I pretty sure for most of us, we go through a stage where being with your parents in public can seem embarrasing. i went through that, but now i look at it as being an opurrtunity to say 'hey, if being cool means not spending time with my family then im out'. becuase in the end when you grow older, where does being cool in highschool help you suceed in life.

Big deal. You can get over it by being proud of your father. Imagine how he feels sticking out... Parents are human too.
