Let me see..... Christian heavy metal....... some groups perform at Ozzfest, open for some of the most evil groups in secular heavy metal, 'devil horn' signs are common in their concerts, some CHM's cuss & drop the 'f' bomb, they have groupies, & the list goes on & on....... but no, they are ok........ just ask the professionals. Go on to their concerts, party hardy..... you will whether we beg you to or not. Just remember, you were told by several witnesses, & you'll be held accountable for your deeds.

*shakes head* I just don't think you understand.
Hahaha. Ohhhh my friend, I think it's quite the opposite. :)

I understand your point about "gnosticism", but what you don't realize is that your "gnosticism" problem, is what Christianity is all about:

Separating ourselves from the sin of the world.

As Christians it's our job to stand and be an example of Christ and His glory. That's kiinnddaa why back from its roots Christian means "Christ-like" ..... just saying. Lol

God loves us and wants us to live by His word, so I apologize if anything/one that is worldly may find it a bit "inconvenient." :D

sometimes what we think is Godly isn't... that's one of satan's tricks. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:13-14

I've been a Christian as long as I can remember, and I'm open to correction but I'm not sure you even understand what Gnosticism is. I stand by God's Word, not some strange legalistic understanding of it that somehow includes music genres.

I understand that gnosticism is the (I suppose you could say,) the neglection of the material world so that you could be more in depth with the "spiritual world."

All I'm trying to say is I live by God's Word. By the Bible, not by what I want the Bible to mean. I don't mean to stir up anything if I have. I was just initially giving my input on the subject matter through scripture and explanation. I'll conclude with this post to prevent from any bantering. Arguing is the last thing I want.

I respect The Bible, I respect God, and I respect all of you. :D

Your friend,
Moose.

VERSE 1
Who but the Lord set the bound'ries of light
Hung the stars in the night?
Who but the Lord drew the face on the moon
Made the planets to move?
Who but the Lord tells the clouds when to
pour
Thunder to roar?
Amazing are Your works
CHORUS
Almighty Maker
You command heaven and earth
By the power of Your Word
Be praised forever
Almighty Maker
All creation sings of You
Glory fills all that You do
Be praised forever, ever, and evermore
VERSE 2
Who but the Lord could have dreamed of the
plan
That would save fallen man?
Who but the Lord washes rebels with blood
Making mercy a flood?
Who but the Lord could give life through a
cross
Rescuing us?
Amazing are Your ways
BRIDGE
All things are from You
All things are through You
O God, the great I AM
All things are for You
All things are to You
O God, the great I AM

Now THIS is GOD GLORIFYING MUSIC!!! :)

I do have a question about heavy metal.... When they growl the words in their song, they all seem to sound alike. Is that a digitial effect, or their natural voices?

You're very judgmental, Nate. God can totally use heavy metal for His glory. He can use any genre for His glory.
Pfft, if a group of people can tell it's not anointed and spirit filled, it's probably not best to listen to... It's not judgmental since you always like to give me the judgmental persona. It is really discernment.

Personally, I don't like metal, but everyone has a differential music taste. Every genre of music comes from God above, and I personally don't like when people say a genre or style of music God does not love just because they don't like it. Because I hate slow gospel singing? Does that make me a heathen? No.

Does this music promote bad behavior, violence, anything ungodly. If it does, then you have a problem, but to judge a whole genre based on a few bad ones is idiotic and judgmental.

Honestly does music always have to be "Anointed" cause when I workout, I'm not looking for "anointed", I'm looking for "pump-up christian rap..etc."

Music is from God, It's a gift from him to us, that can be misused. Just like Sex isn't bad, until it's taken out of marriage. Money isn't bad until it controls us...Etc.

They learn how to do it... so its natural (and very hard to do!!!)

yes... but even if the type of music was changed to worship music... the words are still the same... look them up... maybe you will learn something new... don't judge by your eyes or ears..because like you said... Satan can disguises himself..

I enjoy Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Pierce the Veil, Of Mice and Men and various others
even though that is metal core... that is not the point I am trying to make...The point I am trying to make that CHRISTIAN metal core is just like worship music..or rap christian music... or country christian music... it's just the style of the music that changes the view point of person listening!

I can understand the lyrics, but the music it self is not of God. So Jake you are really getting no where.
Infact most the world today listen to heavy metal, it only satisfies the flesh. You can hear it from the distance and you can hear it doesn't sound right. Tbh I rather hear the lyrics than the Music blaring it out. I have a reason to believe most of y'all lack discernment
