If you think a certain type of music is "bad" for you, you just have not found the right band...so please tell me that metalcore is bad for me, because I will just show you this video below everytime. they are PRAISING GOD! next time, look up your facts before committing a word... I know what I am listening to! god bless and think ;)

Everybody have their own preferences, but I my opinion, I can't really heard the lyrics. BTW I prefer electronic & chillstep, but I have not venture of in Metal, so my statement may not be valid.

God bless you.

I did not listen to that video but we all have different preferences there are many different ways to praise God . I personally think as long as the lyrics are clean and have a message that is pleasing to God who cares what style of music it is whether its country or metal it's the lyrics that matter

I can because if you actually listen to it, it talks about more godly things then most music "christians" listen to.

and yet god said as long as it is praising him he does not care...and you are simple minded. this speaks more truth then the music you listen to.

Tbh, I hardly doubt anyone could sense the spirit of God in heavy metal... Thats like trying to smell a rose with a thousand bees.

You're very judgmental, Nate. God can totally use heavy metal for His glory. He can use any genre for His glory.

You are completely right! God could use whatever song ever made for His glory!! BUT He will never use anything such as metal, rap, or hardcore beatstep blah blah blah, etc etc... because God is not going to use the things of this world to uplift His name.

God will only use things of a pure nature and humble spirit simply because of what He has told us! (In His Word!!)

I think of Romans 12:2:

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

If you want to truly be of God and praise God, then as Ephesus 5:11 says, have no fellowship with the works of darkness! (Things of this world!) But rather reprove (reject) them.

Please if you ever have questions or problems with things of this world, heed the Word my brothers.

Your friend,
Moose

What is it with some Christians having such a love for Gnosticism? Not cool, mate. That verse is about not conforming to the patterns (eg. the beliefs, the attitudes, the values) of the world, not musical genres! That's stretching the verse to say something other than for what it was designed.

Stretching verses is far from what I believe friend. :)

It says to this world, not to the way the dress, how they talk, or anything in specific. It says the world in general, the actions, vocabulary, beliefs, values, hobbies, traditions, etc. Excluding a verses meaning is just as bad as one who stretches it

I'm not trying to upset anyone, rather to answer the question asked with some scripture. After all, that's what Jesus did with the Pharisees when they asked questions, correct?

Preferences Preferences Preferences!!
If I'm to live a purpose driven life that pleases Him, I'd prefer to live and prefer things/stuff according to His acceptable preferences for me too.

Stay blessed and think too!
