I have a confession, ever since the age of 13 (im 15 now), i've been watching [y'know] and i really don't want to. I've prayed countless times asking for assistance but yet i still end up doing it. I really REALLY want to stop, anyone have any tips or tricks that can forcefully stop it? It really sucks that i do this. I've sinned a terrible sin.

Hey brother, To get rid of your struggle you need the lord to help you. In your own flesh you cannot do it, but with Jesus you can do it. Ask the lord to give you the strength to overcome your struggle and know that he still loves you so much. It's hard to deal with temptation but know that the lord is always there to help you. Ill pray for you, God bless brother.

I'm not sure if it's something all Christian males struggle with, but I know I have had more than my share of that temptation in my life as well friend.

Being through public school the influences and temptations are farrrr far far from what a Christian needs to keep his mind on Him, but @Timmaayyyy said, Jesus is the only real answer!

The Bible speaks repeated of the heart being desperately wicked, your body is going to fight you on this! It's a lust, a fleshly lust. And I know as a fact it's one of the Devils favorite tools against a Christian!!! So get in your Bible, pray and ask God for forgiveness, strength to overcome, and to have peace over the strife it has caused/is causing you.

I'll be praying for you brother, for I know your struggle all too well. I'm always here if you need to talk. PMs always open.

Your brother in Christ,
Moose.

If you want to stop, don't just pray and expect God to make the urge to go away. You have to take action yourself. Find a hobby and make yourself do that instead f the other. Do 10 push-ups everytime you get the urge to watch or something. Replace the bad habit with a good one. You can pray all you want, but you can't just expect it to go away without taking action of your own too. If it comes to it, ask someone to set parental controls on your computer so it becomes inconvenient to try and watch. It doesn't have to be a parent, but maybe a Christian friend you can confide in.

Exactly! Prayer will only do so much without action! I can pray and ask God to help me get in my bible ever hour on the hour, but it won't do a single good unless I were to actually do something about it!

God heeds our prayers, but we have to work on our own as well. Don't expect God to do it all for you! Fight that habit with a Godly habit.

I understand what you are saying, superkid555. I'm also 15 this year.

According to the Bible, we as Christians go through many 'storms' as Christians. In this case, it is a struggle for purity. I have face it too. Many times, even now.

Christians aren't people without problem, but people who go through them, people who get them solve with God's help. Storms in life are meant to strengthen us, not put us down. God doesn't want you to run away from the problem, but to go through it. He will be with you, " for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6.

Temptation will never go away, it is always tormenting us. But God has grant us the power to overcome it. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan. But Jesus use the Bible against Satan, as shown in Matthew 4:1-11.

Now on to ways to stop doing ' y'know ' :

1. Tell someone close about it
-It can be your parent(s), close friend, pastor, etc.
-It is very hard. I know. But, abandon your pride, just 'kill' it.
-Remember to tell them that you wanna stop & ask them to help you, so they don't get the wrong picture.

2. Anytime you get the 'urge', by all means, stop it.
-You can try shout in a pillow over your face or something.
-Having a hobby and doing 10 push ups everytime you get the urge, as advised by cybertech is also a good idea.
-Don't inflict pain on yourself, it is not advisable.

3. Understand the consequences of it.
-This link may help :
Why I stopped watching porn: Ran Gavrieli at TEDxJaffa 2013 - YouTube

4. Pray
-This is one of the most important step, asking God for help. Credits to MooseAura & cybertech

It is very good that you have already done the first and most important step, that is, to recognize that doing it is wrong. It is also good that you have come to this website to get help. There are many ways to stop it propose by others on other similar threads.

Paul has also wrote in Romans 7:15-25 about the struggle for righteousness :-

"For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing."

May God guide you & bless you.

Good luck, superkid555.
