sexual attraction shouldn't , as you say, "set things off." God should set things off. and you can't put personality in the sexy group. personality is under the word, beautifull. also funny and a good sence of humor. a nic figure, sex, lust, goes under the word sexy.

Maybe the two concepts are difficult to distinguish for a 14 year old hormone filled lad when one can so easily lead to the other (yes, I was young once), but trust me, there is a distniction. Related? Most definitely. The same? No, not unless our Lord was suggesting that every man and woman who ever lives is guilty of adultery due to their innate biological urges. Think of the difference between hunger and gluttony. Of course it's not wrong to want to eat, but it is wrong to be a glutton, or to 'lust' after food.
thats rude.. just cuz hes 14 doesnt mean hes stupid ok.. he knows what hes talking about.. sexual attraction isnt it sexual?? hello and lust is wanting that person sexualy..

i agree. if a man says u are beautiful girls like that better than ur sexy or hot. atleast in my case lol
This may be your personal preference, and I don't want to knock it, but I do fear that this is really a game of semantics. When a man calls a woman whom he fancies or is presently courting etc. 'beautiful', while it's possible he may mean it in the strictest sense of the word, more often than not I'd bet that he is using the word at least partly as a synomym for 'sexy'.

Think of it like this: a man can call the whole of creation beatiful (for it is), yet there is something even more to you that is additional to beauty: you are sexy to him. If he doesn't find you sexy then I'd question whether the relationship would be a fruitful one (and I suspect that you would too). This additional element is why your man will ultimately want to marry you and start a family. It is something unique within the relationship between a man and a woman that is not found in the relationship with the rest of creation. Even though we can still rightly call the trees and the birds beautiful, I don't think you'd want your fella copping off with the nearest sheep.

I didn't say he was stupid. I suggested (based on my own experience of being his age) that it can be difficult to distinguish the two, as I acknowledged, one can easily lead to the other.

And of course sexual attraction is sexual. We are sexual beings and God created us this way. Lust, as I explained earlier is better described as the disproportionate want for sex that is removed from it's proper and natural setting.

i see what u are trying to say yes everyone is human but we still have limits.. the way u stated that seemed like u were calling him too immature and dumb to understand. thats why i said it.. just becouse we are sexual beings doesnt make it right.. we should still fight against it

No, I'm saying you're not right because I don't think you're right. Bringing PraiseMyGod's age into it was an attempt to empathise with him since, as I said, I was 14 once too and I know how blurred the line between attraction and lust can be. Yes it was an assumption, but it was more a general statement drawing on my own experiences of being young and full of hormones.

Do you think there is something intrinsically wrong with sex? Is it a disordered desire?

no nothing is wrong with sex it says in the bible that God has given sex as a gift "for married people"

Of course God is the ultimate author of everything, but if men and women didn't fancy each other, then there'd be no courting, no marriage and no babies.

and you can't put personality in the sexy group. personality is under the word, beautifull. also funny and a good sence of humor. a nic figure, sex, lust, goes under the word sexy.
And this makes me more convinced that this thread is just a game of words.

Yes, but men and women don't start fancying each other only after they're married. It starts a long time before that and it is a foundational element behind the whole process of courship, marriage and procreation.

Your husband wouldn't have married you just for the conversation and your charming personality, for if that's all he was after he could have just been freinds with you and left it at that. I propose that your husband fancied you, and yes, thought you were sexy.

I bet he still does. Why don't you ask him?

Right, but are you suggesting it would be wrong for him to think you were sexually attractive before you were married?

ok, so i'm rong because you say so and because i'm young and everything is a blur? ok, you know what, this situation about the word sexy isnt a blur to me. and your tight, a couple should be attracted to eachother, but that doesnt give the right for ppl at school to call girls sexy when they don't even know them, just that they know they have sexual attractions for them. and actualy, i think a couple should be sexualy attracted to eachother, but mostly attracted through God's love. because what do you think will happen as they get old? sexual attraction will be difficult to see. but the couple lasts not by sexual attraction, but by agape love, the way jesus loved us. that is what should bring couples together. not sexual attraction, but love.

So we agree that sexual attraction is okay?

And that giving in to sexual temptations is wrong (and is what understand as lust)?

I'll settle for that.
