I had a friend years ago who practiced JW. I would be careful in joining this group as they use a modified bible that does not place an equal value of Jesus in the Trinity, but refers to Him as being a 'god' instead of God. For Christmas I gave her a New King James bible for which she thanked me profusely.

There are so many denominations reflecting many various beliefs. It would be wonderful if we were of one accord and there was unity in our ranks. I am a lapsed Catholic and I am now attending the Seventh Day Adventist church so that my future wife and I will be united in how we practice our faith.

This is a strong bible believing church that preaches salvation that can only come from the shed blood of Jesus. They practice keeping the Sabbath holy and perhaps that is a good thing because that this is the only commandment in the bible that reminds you that you must follow this. They also stress the importance of tithing and that is a good thing as well as it lessens your reliance on yourself and teaches you to rely on the Lord for all things. This faith stresses also that our bodies are a temple of the Lord and you must be careful what you put into them so as to stay as healthy as possible. I am still pondering and learning these new concepts but my sense is that these practices provide a strong biblical foundation in which to grow and prosper in our humble service to the Lord.

I am familiar with the Baptist church and I would not forsake this to explore the Jehovah Witnesses. I appreciate your desire for wanting more of the meat of the Word of God and your desire to grow in your faith.
Jehovah's Witnesses are certainly theologically in error on many issues, as has been pointed out in this thread by a variety of people.

On the issue of tithing, however, the Jehovah's Witnesses(remarkably) actually got it right!
They do not support tithing.

Which of the O.T. tithes does the 7th Day Adventist church promote/stress?

They came by my house once. We sat down in my living room to talk. Before they had time to start their spill, I took my Bible out and read John Chapter 3 to them, and asked them to explain what it meant to them. The older JW looked at her watch, and asked if we could continue our discussion later that she had an appointment that she had to keep. I said anytime. They got up and left, and I haven't seen them since. That was in 1989. I guess I'm on their black list. I would love to have had a chance to share the real Gospel with them. I did give them a real Gospel Track on their way out.

If you are a new or a young Christian, please don't open the door for them.

Moral of the story for the mature Christian: make sure the Jehovah's Witness has time to actual talk before letting them in.

Discussing the history of the Jehovah's Witnesses by using their own literature might be a little rough for them too.

Unfortunately, the ones (JW) who really are honest with themselves are very few. It is better to test their honesty and desire to talk about God like Billiyd did. Few will accept the challenge; the most of them will come up with lame excuses to not talk about the Bible.

Hi saints!, um ive been approached by Jehovah witnesses earlier and I have 2 say im interested in there beliefs. Ive done some research on the watchtower and their personal faith. But im still not sure. I currently go to a Baptist church. And I like it but am serching to stronger my faith and my teaching and I dont think il find it in a Baptist setting. Y? because I want more teaching. Not just praise and worship but to submerge myself in the word and with people who are also on one accord. Whats your opinion :) let me kno
I converted from Jehovah's Witness to Christianity when I was 23 (grew up Jehovah's Witness). I'm 26 now and must say that these have been the best 3 years of my life and I have never felt so close to God. Their Bible is edited to fit their false doctrines. Their beliefs are very legalistic. They don't believe in the Holy Spirit and believe that Jesus is Michael the Archangel.

To any JWs that are on here, please don't take my post as an offensive one.
